What’s the DI version of Duck Duck Goose? Felix, felix, felix, Fishman! The Grace DIs are everywhere in Colorado. Played at Etown in Boulder yesterday with some top notch pickers, and tonight I’ll be at The Rock Garden in Lyons with Lost Penny

Ain’t From Here up to mischief! Our latest single drops in 3 days. Super excited for it to come out, though I wish it wasn’t as relevant as it is - written by a survivor of the Joplin tornado in 2011. www.instagram.com/reel/DJz2xq6...

Ain’t From Here on Instagram: "POV: You thought filming a promo for your new single would take 5 minutes… Spoiler: it took 2 hours, 3 breakdowns, 2 outfit changes, and 1 existential crisis 😅 But hey,...

Recording friendo. I love the technical challenge of session work - all kinds of different songs, styles, gear, people, and places… and the occasional 4-footed helpers. #studiomusician #sessionwork #uprightbass #womeninmusic

Do you play #bluegrass, #folk or #acoustic music and fly? Folks are collecting info on our impact on airlines so we can push back against them forcing us to check our instruments - which is against a federal law. Here’s the anonymous survey. www.bit.ly/instrumentsonflights

Down sick with a sinus infection. I keep poking my socials like “Do something! I’m bored but don’t have the energy to actually do anything!” I need my scrolly dopamine hit! 🤦😅

Hop to it for some fire bluegrass from #TheGrassHoppers that’ll keep you warm in this last gasp of winter #SnoCoMX #FoCoMX #colorado #bluegrass #womeninbluegrass

Things get weird when my electric guitar comes out. Recording prep for a single Ain’t From Here is dropping May 22nd. Then The Grass Hoppers and AFH are gonna take #FoCoMX by storm 4/18 and 4/19 #coloradomusic #womeninmusic #countrymusic

Fresh #SpecialConsensus ? Of course within 48 hours I’ve got @whutda.bsky.social’s bass line transcribed, and about half learned! 🤦 I’d say I need a life, but I have one - this is procras-ductivity.

#Ain’tFromHere ’s stable of gitfiddles. Setting up to play a private party. Feels good to be back in the saddle of regular shows with a 5-piece band. I’m weird and *like* load in/load out. #touringmusicians #womeninmusic #bluedirtcountry

Caleb is making sure I don’t neglect him this Caturday. Sorry bud - I need that notebook.

Should have talked about this gig on here, still getting used to having a Bluesky account. My office last night - last minute gig at Tom Davis in Loveland, with Ain’t From Here. Good times.

I don’t know *who* needs to see this, but I’m pretty sure someone does. Now, I’m to go be radical and *read a book* - le gasp!

Cat naps.

#Photography is a great way to make friends at music festivals. It’s a fun fidget toy, and as a musician I can better predict how the performers will move. And the better I know them personally the easier it is to catch those really expressive moments.

Ended the night watching Tony Trishka’s #earljam at #midwinterbluegrassfest.

Join #50501movement at the #PresidentsDay Protest on 2/17 to defend democracy and reject fascism!

I heard some rustling in the corner, and turn around to find Jester had crawled IN the pot with my gooseberry start. 🤦 This is why I’m not doing much seed starting - trying to keep the cats out of the seedlings is a losing battle. #cats #gardening

The cats were “helping” me work on my bass lines book manuscript tonight. Felt good to start cracking on this again.

Caturday mayhem. Finally installed the supports for the #CatastrophicCreations cat wall stuff. The metal studs in the basement aren’t much better than cardboard - hence the reinforcement.

Fantastic to see so many people show up at the #colorado50501 protest. Had to leave fairly early, interested to hear the final tally. I got lots of video too. Tomorrow may be a video editing day.

2/2 at 5:30pm The Grass Hoppers are giving a workshop on adding detail to your performances - jams or stage. At Bricks On Main in #longmont for #winterwalkabout #bluegrass #coloradobluegrass

Tonight’s catchphrase? “Squirrel!” #adhdlife

Snow day #photography at the park in my neighborhood. #canon. #Bluegrassjam at The Neighbor in #fortcollins tonight 6-8pm, and #TigheBrothersDistillery in #denver Wednesday 6:30-8:30pm #bass #bluegrass #livemusic #colorado

It’s a gorgeous, sunny, snow-blanketed morning in #colorado. First thing’s first - coffee - then I’m bustin’ out the big camera! #photography #canon #snowday

Show ain’t even started and she’s already snitched my hat.

Tonight’s gig (1/24) starts at 8. Gonna play some acoustic country wit’ da big bass in Wellington. Tomorrow playing the Swiftie party at Parkway Food Hall in Longmont from 5-7. #livemusic #frontrange #countrymusic

The world is crazy. Have a cat. He’s making it difficult to focus on my work.
