There's a future where a large portion of America lives in one gigantic Ryan Homes HOA. They have decent schools, build nice parks and roads, and even have a private police force that kicks out the vagrants who don't own property and pay their dues.

NIMBYs get a bad rap. If I live in a nice neighborhood where the price is really high, that's not a sign to build a high rise across the street. It's a signal that other towns should build nice neighborhoods too. We don't need more condos in NYC, we need more cities like NYC.

Had a guy fix my garage door yesterday. He was down over 90% on his 5k investments in Telcoin and TRUMP. He then told me how he voted Trump but now hates him due to the crypto scams and the fact that nothing changed for him business wise. Take from that what you will.

I've been thinking about this quote by Thomas Jefferson: "the earth belongs in usufruct to the living; that the dead have neither powers nor rights over it." He was talking about how one generation's laws and debts should not bound another. (1/2)

"Value creation" is very different from creating valuable companies. If I combine every hotel in the world into one company, I have the world's most valuable company. Did I create any value? No, it's the same hotels and the same people. (1/3)

People always assume that if we're in a simulation, this must be an ancestral simulation. I disagree See we came up with simulations back in 2010, it's now 2022, and we're one of 5M simulations testing tiny changes. This reality tests if the Rock should have hair in the yet-to-be made Moana movie.
