Zea is afraid to admit that she loves Emmrich, because everyone shelved in the past left her. Emmrich is afraid to tell her he loves her, because he thinks he’s rushing things and doesn’t want to scare Zea away. It’s a whole thing. Lots of tears when they eventually say it (Emmrich says it first).
