New Brunswick's popular history magazine, launching Summer 2026. Call for contributors is open! The Oar is the annual periodical of the Fredericton Region Museum, located on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Wolastoqiyik.

Volume 1 of The Oar will be released August 1st, 2026. Printed copies will be available at the Fredericton Region Museum, and online after January 1st 2027. We are pleased to share the table of contents for the first issue!

Pleased to share that digitized copies of The Officers' Quarters are now available online. The OQ served as the official publication of the Fredericton Region Museum from 1985 to 2025, and offers short essays documenting the history of the city, region, and museum!
