Allen Robinson, who announced his retirement on IG earlier today, had his best statistical seasons with the Bears in 2019 and 2020 (200 combined catches for 2,397 yards and 13 TD receptions), but his best Chicago moment came during his first year in the navy blue and orange, and was ...

How well Garrett Bradbury steps in to replace the retired Drew Dalman will be a major key for the 2026 Bears. There's precedent for regression with Dalman gone, but if the Bears play their cards right, they could buck the trend. After all, the reviews have been glowing so far: tinyurl.com/muwnuytu
The alarms I set the night before street cleaning day here in Chicago.
If this is it for Jose Urquidy, he just threw the best game he's had in literal years. Last time Urquidy notched 6.0+ IP of shutout ball with 2 or fewer hits was Sept. 29, 2023, when he threw 6.0 innings with 2 hits, 2 K and 3 BB as a member of the Astros in a 2-1 W at Arizona.
Sam Antonacci with an INCREDIBLE catch at the ivy to help preserve a 1-0 White Sox lead.
A word on the Bears signing defensive end Marcus Davenport. Is his best season 5 years behind him? Yup. Has he dealt with a litany of injuries? Yup. But as we've seen time and again in a Ben Johnson system, culture fit matters.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson said that Kyle Monangai will be considered week to week with his knee injury as Chicago progresses through the preseason.
There’s just a certain inevitability about PCA right now. It’s like seeing baseball Aang enter the avatar state through his own free will for the first time.
PCA with an ABSOLUTE MVP statement performance tonight⚾️🔥🔥
The Cubs have placed Edward Cabrera (blister) and Dansby Swanson (oblique) on the injured list, and called up Kevin Alcantara, Javier Assad and Owen Miller from Triple-A. James Triantos was also sent down to Triple-A.
The Bears have announced the signings of DE Marcus Davenport and DB Deantre Prince. In turn, the team also waived UDFA RB Coleman Bennett outright, and TE Nikola Kalinic with an injury designation.
2026 NL Position Player WAR Leaders Pete Crow-Armstrong (7.3) Brice Turang (5.3) Andy Pages (5.2) Otto Lopez (5.0) All Leaders: https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/NL/2026-batting-leaders.shtml
Before the Bears' preseason game against the Browns, head coach Ben Johnson brought in a special guest speaker to advise the younger guys getting their first NFL experience. MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. Press Taylor talked about Jeter's perspective on failure today at Halas Hall. 1/4
Shortly after the Bears received positive news on Ozzy Trapilo, the injury bug came back around to bite them again, this time in the running backs room. The silver lining, though, is that Kyle Monangai is expected to be "fine": tinyurl.com/wa79ktsx
From the NFL's Transaction Wire: DE Marcus Davenport, most recently with the Detroit Lions, was brought in for a visit by the Bears. Davenport has struggled with injuries for years, but has previous ties to DC Dennis Allen when the two overlapped in New Orleans.
Cairo Santos is now 2-3 on the day with makes from 49 and 51, and a miss from 50 yards. 27-10 Bears, 8:41 remaining in the 4th.
Beanie Bishop now has 2 picks on the day — one off Shedeur Sanders and another off of Dillon Gabriel. It’s still just the preseason, but what a statement for Bishop as the Bears look for players to step up in the secondary in light of recent injuries.
Salvon Ahmed with a catch-and-run 49-yard TD off a screen pass from Case Keenum to start the second half. It’ll be interesting to see if he sticks to the Bears’ 53-man roster or practice squad, given he already has an advocate in Eric Studesville.
A lot of good stuff from the Bears defensive line the last few drives. Jamree Kromah has done a good job of creating pressure on the pocket.
Julian Okwara sacks Tyson Bagent. Put an asterisk next to that sack because Okwara beat Jedrick Wills one-on-one.
It’s a 4-play, 51-yard drive in 91 seconds that ends in a 25-yard TD pass from Tyson Bagent to Maurice Alexander. Bears 2nd-string offense looks alive after two nice plays back to back on the defensive side of the ball generate a turnover.
The Bears defense was getting pretty consistently gashed until those back to back plays made by Ruben Hyppolite and Jamree Kromah. Gonna need to see more like it from the Bears’ depth pieces on defense, but nice to see *some* examples early.
Some good work from my coworker, Mike Johnson, detailing how we arrived at another non-update, update on the Chicago Bears’ stadium situation during Kevin Warren and George McCaskey’s annual media availability earlier today. How we got to where we are now: wgntv.com/sports/bears...
Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren says Hammond, Indiana, is team’s ‘sole focus’ for new stadium project
As the Chicago Bears prepare to begin a much-anticipated season on the field, the team’s “sole focus” for a new stadium project is on Hammond, Indiana, with two specific sites bei…

Circling back to the Coby Bryant injury news earlier today. Ben Johnson said Bryant will undergo surgery on Friday, Aug. 14. If he hits the front end of his estimated recovery (four months), he could be back by the Bears' Week 15 road trip to visit DJ Moore, Josh Allen and the Bills on Dec. 19.
My second "Hits from Halas" piece on Bears training camp. What was billed as a “big-time practice” at Halas Hall went off without a hitch compared to the same practice this time last year. How D'Andre Swift dazzled, plus some situational hits and misses: tinyurl.com/bdeb7h2c
Bears center Garrett Bradbury on a hot, humid practice at Halas Hall today. "I liked the humidity and the temperature and the live situations," Bradbury joked after practice. "Coach [Johnson] hit it on the head at the end of practice. We needed one of those days ... "
We’ll see what Caleb Williams and Garrett Bradbury have to say afterward.
The highly anticipated “big time practice” ends 40 minutes early. No scuffles or dust ups. No hardcore live sessions. Most animated player I saw was Jahdae Walker celebrating a touchdown catch and winning a rep in 1-on-1 drills. I walked away thinking, “That’s it?”
