I recently completed my Dangerfield rewatch. I've really enjoyed the series, but it had a final series retooling with soapier elements added which at times left me reacting like Dr. Paige in this scene 🙈

This last series has its good moments but the change of direction is reminiscent of The Bill's move to soapier plot lines around the same time. #Dangerfield ends on a sombre note and a further series was planned but Havers left the show and it was ended.

Also jettisoned was the Dangerfield doctors surgery, as Dr Paige focuses on solely being a police surgeon in this final run. As a result, the series loses its three oldest cast members as it focuses solely on events at the police station.
A retooling of the series saw Nigel Hess' theme tune dropped along with title sequence, replaced by a simpler title card with incidental music. The end titles would feature a new theme by Ray Russell. Episode titles and credits were also presented in a large font. #Dangerfield
