Who you were before you became who you are. A podcast about the things we loved before we knew they’d matter. Coming 10/4.

Tonight I finished editing the first full episode of The Room We Wanted. And I can honestly say... I think we’ve got something special here. 🙏🏼 Two more episodes before the 10/4 launch! If you haven't subscribed yet, please do. There’s a little something for everyone. 🚪

Meet one of the first Roommates joining us on The Room We Wanted: rock 'n' roll comedian Don Jamieson. His room? KISS' Destroyer, Looney Tunes, G.I. Joe & olive loaf. Yes, olive loaf. 😂 The Room We Wanted launches 10/4, but Patreon Roommates get early access starting 9/28. 🚪

We've read so many great things about the BlueSky community, but we're still trying to find our people. If you're into '80s & '90s pop culture, music, movies, TV, video games, toys, snacks & all the weird little things that made us who we are, come say hi. We'd love to connect with more of you. 👋

Fathom struck gold with this weekend’s 40th anniversary re-release of Transformers: The Movie. In limited showings, it grossed more than half of its original run ($3M). Pretty damn cool to see with four decades of hindsight. 🙌🏼 Hopefully Hasbro has more G1 in store for fans.

The Breakfast Club is an all-time classic and endlessly quotable film. Sure, some of the dialogue can feel dated now. But watching this with my oldest reminded me that the heart of this movie still hits: we're all carrying things people can't see, and maybe we're not so different after all.

The things we loved when we were young were never just things. They were pieces of us. The Room We Wanted is a new podcast that explores how four pieces of childhood helped shape who each of us became. And how, together, they tell a much bigger story. The trailer is out now. 🚪

As much as I loved Coyote vs. Acme, I feel like the movie benefited a ton from the story with Ketchup Entertainment and the amazing campaign that led to its release. Had WB lazily released it with no marketing or fanfare, it may have been the flop they were looking to write off.

What's one '80s commercial jingle you still know all the words to? I'll start: "Get your skis shined up, grab a stick of Juicy Fruit, the taste is gonna move ya..." 🍬 (Apologies if that earworm is stuck with you for the rest of the day!)
