The Rosslyns

@therosslyns.bsky.social

"ultra-obscure lo-fi UK bedroom pop", signed to Harriet Records (US) & My Secret World (UK). We can’t be ‘indie’, because our distro is Virgin Music. Essex (then), Essex Road (now). https://harrietrecords.bandcamp.com/album/all-we-ever-did-was-try

Buzzing that our bedsit ballad "Stakhanovite Endeavour" garnered its world radio premiere tonight, courtesy of Miguel's Midweek Musings show... This kind of support eclipses our expectations 😸

Tune in (12 Aug) 3-5pm EDT on whupfm.org - titled "Here It Comes." 1st hr new from Teenage Fanclub, Durutti Column, Frankie Rose, Dev Lemons, & The Avalanches. 2nd hr new from The Darling Buds, THAO, som som, strongboi, & Trachcan Sinatras. + The Rosslyns & Joy Formidable #MidweekMusings #WHUP

This song really is gorgeous and exudes the kind of ‘later Pastels x early Bouquet’ vibes that require me to formally page @assistant.bandcamp.com - who am sure is already all over it 😉 Super frustrating that Foglights are playing Islington the same night that Linda Smith hits the borough…!

New band! New EP! Foglights are Eva (The Cords) and Archie (Stone Anthem) - and they have recorded four luscious songs for their debut (cassette and digital). Available from us and from @slumberlandrecords.com Check it out: li.sten.to/foglights-no...

Annual marketing post, sorry... Exactly 3 yrs ago Harriet Records ❤️ released our entreatingly shambolic CD, a mere 30+ years from ‘recording’ the songs and 20 years after we promised to find the tapes. Fun fact: here's the original cover art vs final version (last minute change of plan)!

Originally planned sleeve for the Rosslyns anthology CD on Harriet, featuring blurry embankment view from a London Overground train (photographed by Echo on what’s now the Mildmay line), with loosely graf-inspired new band logo...... Sleeve we actually used for the Rosslyns anthology, featuring photo of a north London sunrise over silhouetted trees and the former Leroy House building (on the corner of Essex Road and Balls Pond Road).

Plus original letrasetted band logo from 1990 (designed by Paul from My Secret World and used on the “On The Beach” cassette label).

The sleeve art was all put together with kind help from the great Shawn Wolfe (Joe Kafka) who has worked with everyone from Negativland to SubPop!
