"The company did note that The Mandalorian and Grogu “underperformed” at the box office, but argued that “these franchise investments contributed to value creation beyond their theatrical releases.” You had to be incredibly optimistic to hope for anything better from a film that follows 4 seasons.

The Orville ended 4 years ago today. Seth McFarlane said in March that 10 episodes have been written for season 4, but that he didn’t have time to work on the show for now. Provided that Disney gives the green light. No new New Horizons for now. USS Orville, art by Matt Tkocz:

Today is "Soft Rains Day" for those who remember this haunting 1950 Ray Bradbury piece. It's classic Bradbury, eerily accurate w/ its predictions in some respects (looking at you, Alexa), and well worth a few moments of your day to read if you're so inclined.

Jaya rules, and Ravenous rules! This is such a vivid example of how generative AI does not "democratize" art and culture like its boosters claim. It actually increases the need for/impulse towards gatekeeping because in practice, AI just democratizes fraud. Actual work still takes time and skill!
