I’ve had some folks ask: I did reach out to Jenny Kwan + Frank Caputo to get Opposition and shadow minister reaction. Many, many times. Caputo was at the April HoC committee meeting in the story, grilling Anandasangaree. Neither could be bothered to engage this time though 🤷🏻‍♀️

NEW: The 🇨🇦 DND has just replied to my query: "We are aware of reports of strikes overnight in the middle East. All CAF personnel deployed in the region are currently safe and accounted for." 6 days later.

On Wednesday July 29, TSOT asked the DND about the status of CAF personnel across the Middle East region b/c of news that the IRGC had attempted a "sneak attack" on U.S. bases in Jordan overnight. The response is still making its way up through the approvals.

I did ask the 🇺🇸 Department of War’s Office of Inspector General (the department doing the inquiry into Op. Southern Spear) if they were specifically looking into claims of civilian deaths/fishermen/victims of human trafficking being killed in the strikes 1/2 www.dropsitenews.com/p/prosecutor...

Christy Somos is the only Canadian journalist I'm aware of who is proactively asking the Canadian Department of National Defence about any CAF casualties in the Middle East, while DND assumes their usual passive media posture and don't tell Canadians anything proactively.

In light of the Iranian airstrikes last night, The State of Things reached out to the 🇨🇦 DND this morning to inquire if all Canadian Armed Forces personnel in the region are safe and accounted for. We will update you when we receive an answer.

Spain has joined France and Switzerland in banning Palantir from public sector contracts, and Madrid is under pressure to review the military contract it currently has with the Thiel company - and perhaps decline to renew it. Italy has banned all new contracts. Over to you, Ottawa
