Doing the math, those are 0.9% and 0.2% rejection rates. And a thorough repudiation of the narrative around gender-affirming health care and vulnerable youth embraced by shamelessly self-serving politicians like Alberta Premier Danielle Smith

A new study out of Canada looked at four youth gender clinics. Out of 445 patients only four who started gender affirming hormone therapy ceased taking it, and only one did so due to a re-identification with their birth sex. assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...

I know we're so far beyond this in a horse-in-the-hospital sense, but I still can't help but wonder how the Beltway media would react to literally any other senior government official whose bumbling attempt to change the colour of the water in a decorative feature led to 6 weeks of this stuff

A GOP Cabinet secretary on CNN above a chyron reading "WHAT IS NEXT FOR THE REFLECTING POOL?," pretending it's totally normal and serious big-time government shit to be on CNN trying to explain that the President of the United States couldn't successfully manage a single pool reno

When I first started reporting on Germany's Energiewende in 2005, I heard repeatedly -- even from German energy bureaucrats -- that the goal of 20% from ALL renewables was a far distant dream that might be practically impossible

Solar produced a record 35.5% of Germany's electricity in June ☀️ That was more than all fossil fuels combined: Solar: 35.5% Fossil: 30.7% Other: 33.8% 10 years ago, solar reached a share of 11.6% in June, and has since tripled.

While I’m at it, many Jays fans currently acting like they always knew the team would come to nothing under Rogers and Shapiro are the same ones who would’ve been ecstatic if we’d signed Kyle Tucker, who has 7 HR and a .704 OPS for the genius-led Dodgers. The answer is almost always BECAUSE BASEBALL

Baseball gods are unknowable and capricious. The vaunted LA Dodgers won I think 9 straight division titles before they won a World Series. Don’t overthink it, this is a baseball problem, not a Toronto one

A core lesson of the 2025 Blue Jays’ delirious run is that many many things have to break just right to get to the World Series. The lesson of the 2026 team is that when very little breaks right — but especially this — the result from basically the same crew can be pretty dismal

After tonight's 0-for-4, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is now batting .259 with a .695 OPS. Even as we watch it all happen, I can't believe that it keeps stretching on. Baffling season. #BlueJays

This combination, two days apart, will serve for future historians as an effective shorthand for the lunacy of the moment.
