President has sued the broadcaster for $10bn, claiming a documentary on 2021 Capitol attack led to financial harm Donald Trump’s legal team is making an 11th-hour attempt to block a court order that would grant the BBC access to the president’s financial records, as part of his multibillion-dollar lawsuit against the British broadcaster. Trump claims that the BBC’s 2024 documentary on the January 6 attacks have damaged the president’s business interests. In July, a Miami-based judge ruled that the president would have to start handing over detailed financial records to the BBC by 6 August. NEW: GB News has now spent a year as the leading news channel (though Ofcom treats its shows as "current affairs"). BARB data says it has been ahead of BBC News Channel and Sky News for 12 months in terms of average views. Still losing money, but gaining influence.

Staff at 5 Live told he will not return following claims about his previous career at Sullivan’s Sport newspapers The BBC radio presenter Tony Livesey has left the broadcaster after allegations were raised about his previous career as the editor-in-chief of David Sullivan’s Sport newspapers. 🟦 CLEAN FEED | For an outfit the scale of BBC News, it's poor show how often the headlines carried on the TV news channel ticker are out of date. Both stories below have moved on. Surely it can't be difficult to automate this based on up-to-date data from the website?!?

🟪 TX | Looks like the Redruth and Folkestone MW transmitters for BBC Radio 5 Live have now closed as planned. Though the month on the transmitter reception tool is incorrect - listing March instead of July.

🟦 CLEAN FEED | Blooper | Bit of an issue at the end of the regional opt slot on the BBC News at One. This is the view from the BBC News channel, where a sport bulletin is shown during the opt. The programme got stuck on Sport graphics for the next few minutes, including straps.
