Picture Monday: Got to play Monstrous Detectives, a descended from the queen game by @plotbunnygames.bsky.social, with my kid. It was fun, though my kid made it creepier than we had decided beforehand. Oh and the props just happened to be close by.
Humans, @rascal.news is doing some amazing job and they are the most profesional bunch of journalists in the gaming industry. They are having a tough time keeping up the numbers to stay alive. Please, lend a hand if you can. We need them to continue! www.rascal.news
Super exited, because I just video-conferenced with a guy who can set me up with role-players to interview from a whole bunch of countries in a region I have not covered yet. 😍
Belated Picture Monday (was on vacation): Finally made it to @alltheproblems.bsky.social in Berlin (last year I stood in front of an empty door because it was a Monday. they are like a museum I guess 😉). Got myself a copy of Monsters, Aliens, and Holes in the Ground by @stuhorvath.com
I agree about the blues, also the session I was in (Vaesen) was awesome.
The blues set in as I'm back from @the-kraken.bsky.social I can at least reflect on all the games and good times. Played: 13th Age in Glorantha CyBorg Delta Green Feng Shui Over the Edge Royal Blood Two Sides to the Coin Ran: AGON Barbarians of Lemuria Pendragon Savage Worlds Vaesen
What I learned last week: Playing role-playing games with the designer of the game: fun! Playing board games against the designer of the game: a bit frustrating.
Picture Monday: 5 and a half intense days of RPGs and board games and axe throwing (!) at The Summer Kraken @the-kraken.bsky.social are over. Now back to the real world...
And my last game as a player at @the-kraken.bsky.social: I was Antonina Zaslavska, painter and boheme, who joined her friends to find out what happened with their good friend Yevhen (pictured) in Kyiv (also pictured). Game: Call of Cthulhu GM: Tasha
There are also board games at @the-kraken.bsky.social. I played The Crawling Chaos faction in a game of Cthulhu Wars, but absolutely lost. Playing against the game's designer is a bit unfair.
More @the-kraken.bsky.social goodness: I was Franklin Cobblestone, the "electronics expert" who helped sneak the ***** ***** out of the ****** *****. Game: The Job by @gamesomnivorous.bsky.social . GM: Florian
Game marathon for a few days: I was EU-"liaison" Lačezar Petrović invited by the Kazakh government to investigate irregularities at lake Chagan. Game: Call of Cthulhu, GM: Sandy Petersen, Venue: @the-kraken.bsky.social (repost after spelling mistake)
Friday at @the-kraken.bsky.social: I was Hedviga the elderly occultist, who tried to speak to a hammer and tried her luck at marriage counselling. Game: Vaesen. GM: @evilgaz.bsky.social
Continuing with reports from @the-kraken.bsky.social: I was Foret, a defrocked priest who tried to organize a peasant rebellion against Lord Haffir's tyranny. I banded up with a bunch of crazy lowlifes and it kind of sort of worked out for me. Game: Trophy Dark GM: @burnafterrunning.bsky.social
@the-kraken.bsky.social also has loads of board games. I was the hordes of the Sartarian army, who wiped out the imperialist Lunars with a little help of a rocket launcher built by a friendly dwarf. Game: Dragon Pass with a new fan supplement by Gunnar.
Picture Monday: Met up with Robert from DSA Sammlerarchiv, who I had interviewed in the Germany episode about Das Schwarze Auge. We're in front of the excellent Bonner Comic Laden there.
Happy to announce that all of my games are now also available on @rpgtrader.bsky.social! Go take a look and see if any of the 10 games available interest you! rpg-trader.com/creator/1435...

Way back in Episode 21 (www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JCr...) I interviewed Ted from Canada, who was working on the indigenous RPG "Nuna". The quickstart is now out on DriveThru & for less than 2$ it's well worth a grab! Speaking of Canada, gonna do some more editing. www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...
Instagram is such a frustrating website. So it first "disabled my account" when I tried to set it up on my browser, because my smartphone is too old to run the app. So I made a new profile via my spouse's smartphone. (1/2)
The other day I called my department head about his knowledge of a specific time period of the city we live in, which I need for an RPG idea I'm working on (hack of Dream Apart) and he started a 30 minute lecture on that subfield of history 😆 (for some weird reason my department head is a historian)
Picture Monday: having to work on a weekend is always fun 😬
Work related: I got the possibility for a trip abroad or a trip to a remote region of the country I live in, and both are at exactly the same time 😭TTRPG-wise the trip abroad could lead me to new game stores, but the remote region is a place I wouldn't travel to on my own...
Picture Monday: Had a cold this weekend, so lay down and read this old one. Mixed feelings about it - there's advice on how to adapt the game to have non-Western changelings, and that part could have used some sensitivity readers, to say it politely.
For the Americans here: If you feel ambiguous about celebrating July 4th this year, just toast to my birthday on Saturday. Unfortunately I've come down with a cold and can't do much.
I usually don't post nonRPG-related politics, but this mentions Kobolds, so here we go: What's wrong with Der Spiegel? They literally call Ireland's government "Trump's Kobolds", in the sense of minions, because of digital companies - but then Kobold is German for Goblin, so Leprechaun reference.
Congrats to all the nominees! And hey, I might have interviewed a couple of them (specifically episodes 5, 6, and 25).

One of the biggest "wow" moments in my #TTRPG evolution is getting ahold of a #VampiretheMasquerade quickstart in 1997. This sparked so much imagination! It might actually be the best WoD book after the 2nd edition Mage: the Ascension core book. Now if I could only find my copy somewhere...
My only food addiction is to chocolate, which is an issue because of all the sugar. So last weekend I found some roasted cocoa beans and will substitute that now. 😜 The picture is the product I got.
