My site got reborn! I moved off a broken Drupal install to simple Jekyll + PHP — much easier to manage. Now I deploy instantly with plain Markdown/YAML, run by my growing agent fleet. Feels good to experiment again! https://www.thinkyhead.com/blogs/thinkyhead/2026-07-06/the-thinkyhead-site-reborn/

Thinkyhead Reborn.

How much discount for a quite functional 16” MacBook Pro with M1 Pro 16GB and 1TB storage with a little bit of screen discoloration only noticeable on light backgrounds? It was repaired by world famous Rossmann Repair Group. Replacement displays are about $300 but this one is not actually that bad.

We're rewriting the Marlin website from the ground up as an accessible feature-first User Manual — with an eye towards knowledge embedding and further integration with Auto Build Marlin and that OctoPrint 2 plugin we keep teasing. Exciting time to be an #OpenSource maintainer / web dev!

Of course I will use one remote control location for all my helpful #Hermes agents. Building a team that does research and development in embedded software and motion control alongside project maintenance presents an interesting challenge, especially on a tight budget. Must learn however!

Before you unleash #Agents on your #OpenSource project prepare and curate all your knowledge. Sharpen it and remove dross and resolve ambiguities. Provide a high level overview first and work towards details subsystem-by-subsystem. Be patient and take advantage of shared skills.

I've been evaluating agent micro-harnesses for a few weeks, including Zed, Pi, Copilot, and Hermes. Hermes instantly grabbed me with its ability to integrate and improve my custom tooling and solve requests methodically and creatively, inventing skills as the need arose.

🤖 #HermesAgent is ingesting my folders of partially-finished Python and shell-scripted projects into its matrix of skills, enfolding my half-formed ideas in the warm embrace of its agentacle tentacles. I'll show it everything I've got and ask it what it can do with it. It's not #OpenClaw but… #AI

So the stack is now formally coherent:

- prompty-image-prompts
    what to draw

- kitty-diffusion-workflows
    how to draw it

- imagine-inline-images
run it and open the result

- prompty-imagine-render
    do the whole job

As an experiment I set up a simple Frotz endpoint so #AI agents powered by #LLMs can play Z-code text adventures. I'm getting surprising results! Just within its own context (ignoring instruction to write notes) Mistral Small 3.2 is one the best players of "Zork: The Great Underground Empire."

A session of AI playing Zork and doing pretty okay!

Did #GitHub Copilot powered by #Claude just one-shot the solution for a lost steps issue that only manifests when Input Shaping adds extra cycles to the Stepper Interrupt? It looks that way! I did give it some hints where to look, but with only the vaguest of inklings.

Copilot solves a Pull Request??

Meanwhile… I'm adding a new utility to "6502 Tools" for all you old-school Atari 8-bit coders out there. The "ATASCII Insert" Sublime Text plugin provides quick access to inverted and special characters in supported fonts like Atari Classic. #RetroCoding #Atari #MOS6502

I'm making steady progress in my quest to properly redo that game I wrote in 1983 using Atari BASIC + 6502… "Snorky!" is an homage to Q*Bert that follows the logic that if hopping on a small pile of cubes makes Q*Bert fun then many more cubes should be even more fun! #RetroCoding #Atari #MOS6502

The Atari 400 / 800 / XL nostalgia bug has got me looking back at old unfinished projects from 43 years ago and thinking, surely, with all my high level language experience I could do much better at Atari BASIC scaffolding code augmented with 6502 assembly today. We shall see! #RetroCoding
