Not saying a certain courier firm is not actually a courier firm but is actually a manifestation of an eldritch chaos being that feeds on madness & frustration but it would explain a lot. Continuing to mess up after an issue has been resolved takes real talent 😬👍

The new Robert Jackson Bennett book is here & ready for reading (with our ears). Can't say what about books featuring a brilliant but rather awkward & abrasive lady of a certain age could possibly appeal to Madame 😁 but she has enjoyed the previous two books in the series.

Cover of novel Trade Of Blood by Robert Jackson Bennett. The illustration is in shades of blue and violet and gestures a tall central figure (possibly a statue) with two small figures below it and a lot of flowers and foliage surrounding them. As well as the title and author there are the words An Unthinkable Crime. A Fatal Conspiracy. A Suspect Without A Trace.

It's a... *checks @heidibt3.bsky.social for significance of day* National White Wine & Chocolate Chip Cookies Day miracle! Yesterday's missing parcel found. Madame discovered it propped up at the front door a few minutes ago. Wasn't there earlier. Box slightly rained on but contents fine 😀👍

Doing some more background reading on The Brothers. A fair bit was filmed on location on Isle of Skye but opinions vary on the type of bird used for the execution scene. Best advice is don't go out on a wee boat trip round Skye with a fish tied to your head 🐟🦅

*sigh* 2nd delivery of the day has gone missing. 1st one was apparently delivered back to the sender without warning us. Second one has gone to an unknown location. All we know is we don't share the same colour of front door. Madame's headache is back.

Enjoyed Gareth Russell on After Dark about the murder of Rizzio so glad to find RNIB library has this book. Hoping for interesting read. As well as the drama of it all (plots! murders! skulduggery!) life of James was at a fascinating tipping point in history which still has repercussions today.

Cover of book Queen James by Gareth Russell. The main image is a detail from an portrait of a bearded man (presumably King James). Only half of the face is shown. He looks rather wary. There is also the title, author, a subtitle The Life And Loves Of Britain's First King, and several reviews of the book.

WOO HOO! One of our sources of audiobooks (stuff we can't get from the RNIB) is raising prices at start of August so Madame's been stocking up. She got herself a load of history & fantasy stuff & I got... 😃 Possibly the best book cover EVER.

Cover of audiobook Teddy Bears Never Die by Cho Yeeun and translated by Sung Ryu. There's a bright cartoon style illustration of a large pink bear with a bloody axe in one paw and girl in jeans and a yellow hoodie sitting on his other shoulder. A cover quote by Kylie Lee Baker says The perfect mix of horror and heart.

Halftime review of Smoking Behind The Supermarket With You - series 2 - a very sweet slice of life, pleasantly animated - however the main character is SPECTACULARLY clueless. No one here smokes* & it certainly isn't changing that.

This evening we are giving Smoking Behind The Supermarket With You a go. Have heard good things about the manga but we are watching the anime since we still have Crunchyroll. Hopefully no bears in this. Ciggies makes your fur stinky & that leads to - oh the horror! - baths 🚭

Cover illustration of the manga Smoking Behind The Supermarket With You by Jinushi. Two people - a middle aged man and younger woman are sitting, smoking, on two upturned yellow crates.

Madame has watched Dear Hongrang. Contains no bears. Probably a good thing with it being - despite lovely scenery & beautiful costumes - just about as gothically tragic as it is possible to be. Herself enjoyed all the angst & drama but did immediately watch a load of happy puppy videos 🐕👍

Poster for Korean Netflix drama Dear Hongrang. The image includes several figures in Joseon style historical costumes. The general atmosphere is rather dark and brooding.

THERE ARE SOME NEW ONE PIECE LEGO SETS COMING OUT & THE LITTLE GARDEN SET INCLUDES A LEGO MR 13 & MISS FRIDAY 😍 Okay, so I'm probably going to have to sell Madame to afford it. But then who would build everything for me? 🤔 Damn you, Lego! *shakes angry paw* www.lego.com/en-gb/produc...
