Wow cool a comic about the zine keepers! Thanks for sharing!! 😍 I’m wondering how much of that stash you can get in there if you add more extender strings yourself? 😆

Well… after waiting 2 weeks to get this $150 special high quality Nonaka Screw Hole Punch (all the book binders said to not skimp on the real deal)… the $8 chisel and hammer works better. Sorry neighbors. I’ve learned recently that hammering on the kitchen counter dampens the sound at least….
According to doggo I’m not allowed to move. Also he has a really sharp dew claw underneath that fur that digging into the top of my foot so I’m actually REALLY not allowed to move.
FF7: Revelation has me jumping around like a child. 😁 omfg Weapons! And playable Vincent! 😍 Question though… can I have his pop rifle in the game? Just saying. I remember pop rifle and Yuffie’s pinwheel 😆 youtu.be/PH3ox5krci8

Back from a fun weekend at Fanime where I tabled at Manga Ichiba's 1st year event! It was so incredible meeting so many doujinshi fans and creators! I came into this as a creator and fan, but not really up to speed with how the fandom community has grown. Decided to share a bit of what I learned:

Manga Ichiba – Fanime’s First Doujinshi Event
Just finished tabling at Fanime’s inaugural doujinshi event called Manga Ichiba and the turnout was impressive! I came in from the lens of indie comics, having recently printed and kickstarted a graphic novel memoir, and tabled at this event with my older manga series, White Angel, as my main offering (I’m in the process of relaunching this as…

My haul from Manga Ichiba this past weekend! Now… to slowly get through reading all these and telling all their creators how awesome they are for completing and selling their doujinshis!
Manga Ichiba 2nd day is also awesome. Finally at a lull so I can say this. So glad to be meeting everyone and tabling here!
I'm so glad today went well for everyone, it was amazing being around so many excited about eng doujin - I can't wait to see what tomorrow and Sunday will be like too! :D
I've been asked a few times about my experiences running a crowdfunding campaign for my graphic novel. For anyone thinking about it, but worried they don't have the follower numbers to run a successful one, this might be a good read for you.
Crowdfunding a Comic: Do you need an audience first?
Do you need an audience before you launch a crowdfunding campaign? The answer is a little more complicated than a yes or no. Here I share how I successfully crowdfunded my first graphic novel without a large social media following… and share the data behind it. First, who am I? I’m Theresa Chen Arzola. I am the creator of…

Curious about the comic creation process (or at least how I went about it anyways)? Here's a write-up about how Beyond the Road was made.
Beyond the Road: How It Was Made
Everyone who has ever made a comic can tell you the process is never consistent or the same between creators. So I thought I’d take some time to give a better picture of how I completed my recent graphic novel in 1 year. I actually talked about my comic making process in an earlier Newsletter (Letters from Theresa - Sept 2025…

Finished trimming the zines for my next event and now I’ve got a lot of stars to make. 🙃 What do you do with your zine-making scraps?
Decided to write up a "post-mortem" about drawing a 110-page graphic novel and using Kickstarter to fund its first print run. Happy wins and frustration points. Lessons were learned.
Beyond the Road – A Post Mortem
It’s been awhile since my last real blog post and it's primarily been due to me being heads down in Beyond the Road work! But we did it! The book has been finished, the Kickstarter was launched, successfully funded, and now… I have books! Now at the tail end of this long project, I wanted to share a sort of "post-mortem", a structured reflection of the past months in order to inform next steps and share the lessons learned.

Back to drawing. I figured out a desk setup that doesn’t hurt my back. But now my arm hurts. 😩 I’ll figure this out… 😤
Omg… friggin typos. Or autocorrect. I’m blaming autocorrect. Can’t edit it. Hopefully they will see the attached references and get that… I’m not advertising a book about toads.
Titan is also blowing his coat. Everyone other week it seems because of all the fluctuating weather in this year.
