I’m going to the Ohio State Fair today. I have never been to it and I’ve spent nearly my entire life in this state. Going to the county or state fair was not really my family’s thing as I was growing up. Same with camping, fishing, etc. I’m kind of nervous. Tell me what to do there.

“Why are two cis people agreeing to disagree on an issue that doesn’t impact either of them? Who gave all these cis people the right to decide the acceptable terms of debate for the existence and well-being of trans people?” This Cheryl and SC part is huge. You cannot respect bigotry.
This is rough but I think it talks about a lot of what is missing from the Cunningham/WNBA discourse. Namely, that trans people are not hypothetical thought experiments. They are real people who are being genocided by our government & any coverage that doesn't center that reality misses the mark.
Alright, so yesterday’s Cleveland Sirens announcement got me excited for another thing: @pwhl-sanjose.bsky.social selling a Laila Edwards jersey so I can throw my money at it.
Another take on people getting mad at Sophie is that there are players sharing their beliefs all the time and this doesn’t happen. Because those views aren’t dangerous and don’t lack morality and basic humanity for other people.
Athletes supporting anti-trans groups. Athletes without any medical training calling out a doctor who tried to save people from dying. MAN THESE ATHLETES JUST CANT WIN!
Aaron Rodgers spoke out about Dr. Anthony Fauci. Sophie Cunningham spoke out about transgender athletes. Caitlin Clark chose not to weigh in. Three different approaches, one common result: criticism. Steve Buckley on how athletes can't win on social media: nyti.ms/3Sa9A7D

Sirens explainer: New York - wee woo wee woo of hockey goal celebration Cleveland - mythical singing water mermaid thing
Well that was fun. Now we just have to wait a year and a half for a game of WNBA basketball in Cleveland.
Laila Edwards is here. I repeat: Laila Edwards is here.
The S in Sirens also makes CLE when you separate the three separate shapes.
The excitement of their teleprompter reading is professional level.
The logo has five waves for five players on the court and five Great Lakes.
I say this anytime a new logo comes out: I am not a graphic designer or aesthetically gifted. The new Cleveland Sirens logo is fine. I like it.
Merch is also out there. Link to buy it does not work yet but there are photos on the team's page: wnbacleveland.com

As excited as I am to be here, a big part of me sits at these events and thinks "I don't want to be here"
The official announcement event slated for 10:30 will now go at 10:40 because of the line of people waiting to get into the arena.
A source on the inside has seen the WNBA Cleveland logo and they say it's "fire."
