A major problem with using LLMs to learn things: Me: "A is true, therefore B is false, right?" LLM: "Right! Here's a ton of detail to confirm your belief." Me: "Actually, A is false; B is true." LLM: "Exactly right! Here's more detail to confirm that belief."

A lot of content is made by extremely online people, who observe the behavior of other extremely online people and assume that's how everyone is. It's very easy to let your worldview be shaped by a small number of people who are very good at getting attention on phones

I am so disappointed that the song Evanescence made for the Devil May Cry Netflix series does not contain the lyric, "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with light"

I think Pantheon might be my favorite show now. It's grounded, relatable, yet packed with a ton of heady ideas and tech. It's easy to rewatch and really rewards doing so. Light on action, and good when it happens. Probably my strongest recommendation right now if you like sci-fi.

Really enjoying Pantheon on Netflix. Near-future sci fi animated series, which by now has a big fanbase, but new to me so thought I’d share. Excellent recommendation by @thomasjfrank.com (also by my best friend for the last two years but she has fewer followers, ergo her opinion means less)

I need to paste the same links a lot – so I built a Keyboard Maestro macro that lets me bring up a list of them. It's like TextExpander, but I can also apply transformations: - Prepend "https://" - Paste in all caps (useful for text layers in video edits)

Audio nerds: Anyone using a DBX 286s in your mic chain? I'm wondering if adding one would help me eliminate the need for any audio processing in post when editing my videos.

Been thinking a lot about this lately: Electricity wasn't immediately all that useful to businesses when it was invented. It took a big shift in production processes to make it worth adopting.

Dictation tools are getting really good. I've been dealing with RSI issues in my hands, so about 75% of my "typing" is done with voice right now. In testing, my "typing speed" is often around 195 wpm 😄

Pretty sure I've got recurring tasks fully solved in Notion. Fully automated, native (no third-party apps needed), with a record of each time you've finished the task. Video coming this week. I'm pumped.

The automations iceberg: Zapier (easy, mostly no-code) ⬇️ Make (more complex no-code tools) ⬇️ Pipedream (code-first + npm packages) ⬇️ Cloudflare Workers (all code, built-in databases) Is there an even deeper level?

Here's a little look at some advanced Notion data capture you can do with Flylighter, our Notion web clipper! Notably, our highlighting tool can handle funky stuff, like HTML tables and code blocks. Notion displays them just as you'd expect.

I just tried out MacWhisper's dictation mode for the first time. Essentially, you hold down the Command key on your keyboard and talk for as long as you want. Then, you get a pretty much perfect transcription. This is really, really cool.
