I now realize why oligarchy, including “representative democracy,” is so susceptible to fascism & authoritarianism. It is premised on the fundamental idea of rule by “the few”; presumably those best suited to rule. Once you accept that premise, how easy it is to arrive at the “one” most fit.

I see things like this and I know the Earth is beautiful and we humans can be too. If only we could get rid of ugly, ugly “elites” who we’ve allowed to ruin it ever since 1787, all on errant premise they were “better” than us regular citizens.
