The Movement Cooperative powers organizing through shared governance, shared investment, and long‑term stewardship of movement tech. “By pooling resources, we make it easier for more organizations to securely maintain their data at a fraction of the cost,” says CEO Julia Barnes.

Text says: The Movement Cooperative Builds Shared Infrastructure for Organizing. These efforts expand access to critical tools and help organizations focus their energy where it matters most: strategy, relationships, and community impact.

It takes power, not mere presence, to effect lasting change, says social justice leader @Rashad Robinson. His new book “From Presence to Power” offers essential lessons about power – how to understand it, gain it, and use it for progress.

Quote from Rashad Robinson, Social Justice Leader & Author, "From Presence to Power", says: Presence and power are not the same thing. Presence is about getting visibility. Power is about getting things done.

To turn dreams into reality, young people need space to explore their talents, build community, and discover their voices. Jill Scott knows this personally, and that’s what inspired her to create the Jill Scott Arts and Community Fund.

Real-life experience and shared decision‑making build stronger, more equitable climate solutions. As part of Linguistic Waterways, residents of Bushwick, Brooklyn, are developing climate solutions based on their own lived experiences.

A healthy democracy thrives when every voice feels free to show up, speak up, and be heard. This is the America we strive for, one where everyone has the freedom to shape our future.

Hundreds of anti-LGBTQ+ bills. Rollbacks of federal protections. Coordinated campaigns targeting trans youth, healthcare, and schools. The attacks are relentless, but organizers are fighting back — and winning.

Our commitment to reproductive freedom is unwavering. “On this anniversary of the Dobbs decision, we recognize that true reproductive freedom requires more than legal rights; it demands equitable access, resources, and support for every person," says Tareya Palmer, Just Health Fund, Tides.

The challenges we face demand action. Through Tides’ partnerships with community leaders and funders, we move power, money, and resources to local organizations at the forefront of climate justice, racial equity, reproductive freedom, democracy, and more.

Text on a light blue background says: Philanthropy must get uncomfortable to be effective. Move money, share power, take risks.

50 years ago, Tides was founded in a moment that rhymes hard with this one. Like now, philanthropy needed to channel resources to the grassroots organizers and emerging movements responding to local issues in real time.

A woman smiles as a young boy places a sticker on her face. Text says: Built for This Moment. Ready for the Next 50. For 50 years, Tides has built the infrastructure to help move resources where they're needed most. Today, that means ensuring communities fighting for a just and equitable future have what they need to thrive.

Today, let’s honor not only the service members who lost their lives, but also George Floyd, who lost his life to state violence six years ago on this day. While many have wavered, Tides remains committed to the doers in communities across our country and connecting them to power and resources.

We all deserve a just, equitable future. We understand that the best solutions come from the places and people most impacted by the issue, and Tides shifts resources and power to communities historically denied both.

Thanks to our donors and partners, Tides Foundation and Tides Center moved $325M+ in 2025 — defending democracy, advancing justice, and fueling community-led solutions rooted in care, courage, and connection. Explore how our community’s giving was distributed across movements in 2025.
