Ernesto Cisneros delivers a fun time travel book that takes 12 year old Queso back to 1985 where he gets to spend time with his father at the same age. Imagine getting to help your parent as one of their peers, and doing it during the 80’s. This one sucked me in.

End of year goal: read 7 books in 26 days to hit 100 for 2025. This gem by Christy Wopat is up next. There are writers who read and then people like me: readers who write. There is something special about books read by the Christmas tree.
leafy fall backdrop yellow with a tinge of green highlights true beauty
setting sun’s waning light still pushing through smoky clouds scorching day closing
giant wish waiting to take flight with secret hopes carried in the breeze
someone has their ducks all in a row on the dash directing the ride
sunshine from above is all it takes to flourish no matter the base
under speckled sky stuffing shaken from dog toy splendid summer day
air heavy today full of possibilities lurking all around
