Making #zines traditionally sure is messy, but fun! Anyways, here’s a #BTS of me making my Social Media Sucks for Artists zine. Let’s just say there was a lot of gluing (and sticky fingers!) #traditionalart #collage #collageart #art #drawing #writing #zinester #supportartists #papercraft #WIP

The first time I’ve ever had my art shown on a screen and it’s the sketch of a model double-decker bus. Honestly, I think more museums should do this. At least you’ll get artists to visit! #art #traditionalart #bus #vehicles #sketch #livedrawing #smallartist #Mplus #museum #exhibition #drawing

What’s better than complaining about #socialmedia ? Making a #zine complaining about social media! And posting it online. Social media-ception anyone? Keep an eye out for when this is available to download! #zinester #traditionalart #writing #art #papercraft #craft #internationalzinemonth

A few weeks ago me and my cousin visited M+'s new exhibition, and there was a section that allowed visitors to do a live drawing of a double-decker bus model. So of course we had to give it go! Should practice drawing more vehicles… maybe… someday… #art #artstudy #livedrawing #sketching #bus #m+

One of these is not like the others... 👀 More #drawabox homework. Horses this time, because apparently I have no idea how to draw horse faces or where to place their legs. Weird creatures, horses are. There's also a random Otter in there btw. #otter #horses #art #traditionalart #drawing #ink

Loose black-ink sketch of a horse taking a step, shown with construction circles, joint guides and bold contour lines; flowing mane and tail strokes and visible gesture marks emphasize motion and proportion study.

Despite loving anime, I only recently watched #5CentimetersPerSecond It made me reflect on the friendships I’ve had, and how people change from childhood to adulthood. Have you watched it? Let me know! open.substack.com/pub/musingso... #substack #writing #newsletter #moviereview #animereview

Cover image of carousel with a red background. Title says "5 centimeters Per second", subtitle says "a tale of love, nostalgia, and life. Description says: "a review of the anime film 5 centimeters Per second, and how it touches upon the changing nature of relationships." Bottom includes substack username Musingsofanartist for people to follow.

2nd carousel slide of 5 centimeters per second movie review. Top half is made up of a collage a created during the 100 day project when I was inspired by the main characters of the film. Bottom half is the review saying "at its core, the story is about how relationships, especially those in childhood and adolescence, evolve or fade away, particularly as people grow older and circumstances change. To compare it your Your Name, 5 Centimeters Per Second lands harder on the bitter side of bittersweet, as (spoilers) Tohno never reunites with his childhood love. But the catharsis comes with how he is no longer bound to the past. He realises, with his own free will, that he can choose his own future, wherever that might lead."

3rd slide of carousel. It says "the film meanders, philosophies, and characters frequently monologue - to the point it seems like it is trying to be a visual novel instead of a movie. The animation is also dated to some extent, being less fluid, and certain shots look like they came out of a vintage camera. It gives the movie a retro feel, notably with characters using flip phones. It's like you've gained a snapshot of the past - literally."

Last slide with call to action: Read the full article on Substack.

user name at bottom says "Musingsofanartist"
