A6 How many hexagons did it take to make this whole thing? How many blue hexagons are there for every white hexagon? How many types of “triangular things” are there made out of hexagons? How many white hexagons are in the largest unit that repeats? #ElemMathChat

A4: I think a lot of the negativity around question asking comes from large groups. In groups of 2-3, students feel much more comfortable. I think activities that involve question asking as the norm really get kids comfortable asking questions (incoming . . . ). #ElemMathChat

A2 I would still be terrified of this also because there was such negative stigma around question asking. But in hindsight as an adult, curiosity-focused questions are a result of deep understandings, and should be something you are really proud of. #ElemMathChat
