For this morning's #art practice I've painted a fourth 2.5 x 3.5 inch (#ACEO format) ink and #watercolour picture of a classic view from the #Cornwall coast, #StMichaelsMount near #Marazion. I'm pleased with this one, especially the block work of the causeway...

#Kynance Cove, #Cornwall - this morning's #ink and #watercolour painting. It's 2.5 x 3.5 inch, as I continue to explore creating pictures in #ACEO format and consider whether I might try listing some of my mini original art pieces for sale... 🤔
We're home now after a glorious week of walking and relaxing in #Clun in #Shropshire, so here's my #ink and #watercolour depiction of the house that our wonderful AirBnb accommodation was part of. As is now tradition, I left the original picture behind as a thank you to the (super-friendly) owners.
A sketchbook #ink and #watercolour painting of part of the interesting building at the #TeaontheWay cafe near #Clun in #Shropshire...
Yesterday evening I ran the #ClunCarnival Canter, a 5.6 mile trail run through some stunning sun-drenched #Shropshire countryside. It's often over-used to describe hard runs, but I think the word 'brutal' is a fair description of the first ~1.5 miles of the route in this case!
Here's a photo of my #ink and #watercolour #painting of Maggie's Place in Wall near Hexham, #Northumberland, our holiday accommodation for four nights last week. The original picture was left behind as a thank you to the owners...
A quick mini #ink and #watercolour sketch of the view back down #AshesHollow towards #LittleStretton , #Shropshire, trying to capture the rich mix of colours in the hillsides...
We did a fabulous walk today from #LittleStretton, #Shropshire, up Ashes Hollow to the top of the #LongMynd, #PoleBank, then back between two wonderfully named hills, Grindle and Callow. The views were amazing and the hillsides a riot of colour that I've tried to capture in this little #watercolour.
Last piece of #art for today - another small #ink and #watercolour #painting from a picture taken on this afternoon's #Shropshire walk. This is one of my favourite types of tree - a type I call a symmetree...!
We did a nice walk from #BishopsCastle today with some great views east towards the Long Mynd and of the sun-baked #Shropshire countryside. I painted this small #ink and #watercolour picture from one of the photos I took en route. I'm pleased with how it's turned out...
Since I am in #Clun I thought I should have some fun... and so I just threw together this #watercolour postcard montage of local buildings - the #castle, museum, church, pack-horse #bridge and the main street with carnival week bunting... #Shropshire
It’s not great, but here's a postcard-sized #watercolour then #ink picture of a section of #Clun #Castle in #Shropshire that I just painted from a photo I took yesterday evening...
'The Road Just Travelled' - #ink and #watercolour #painting from a photograph I took a few days ago while out on an evening walk from Wall near #Hexham in #Northumberland...
Here's another #naive #art #watercolour scene with colourful #boats and #houses that I conjured up this evening...
Here's a quick ink and #watercolour #painting from a photo taken this afternoon looking south from #HadriansWall between Still Rigg and #Housesteads. I'm calling it #Cloudburst - a bit of a rarity these days...
This afternoon I had a go at painting a postcard-sized, naive art, scene showing boats and a village quayside. This was inspired by a painting on the wall of an Italian restaurant we visited yesterday (artist credit: Janet Davies). It was surprisingly difficult to get the look I was aiming for.
'In fading light' - an evening view looking west from above #Wall, near #Hexham in #Northumberland - ink and #watercolour #ACEO
Here's a second #ACEO format ink and #watercolour #painting - #BedruthanSteps in #Cornwall. It's interesting how different everything feels when I paint in portrait rather than landscape orientation.
This morning I've painted this small, #ACEO format, ink and watercolour landscape of the view looking southwest to #WhealCoates tin mine between #Porthtowan and #StAgnes in #Cornwall. It was fun to do. I think I will do some more pictures in this 'portrait' format.
For this morning's #art practice I produced a 4th postcard-sized #ink and #watercolour picture to complete my series from photos taken on our April trip staying at Rockland St Mary in #Norfolk. This one is a view along a drainage ditch near #Claxton...
I've had no time for morning #art in the last couple of days, but this evening I've grabbed the chance to produce the third in my series of postcard-sized #ink and #watercolour paintings from photos taken on our April trip to #Norfolk. This one is a view from a walk near #RocklandBroad...
Today's #art practice is a second postcard-sized #ink and #watercolour painting from a photo taken on our trip to #Norfolk in April. This one is from a walk we did at #RanworthBroad. I'm pleased with the water and the wooden posts. I think I'm quite good at doing wooden posts!
My go-to #art practice at the moment seems to be the #ink and #watercolour postcard capturing an 'ordinary' view... but when is a view of a landscape ever really ordinary...?! Today's is based on a photo taken in April while staying in #Norfolk, a view from a walk at #RocklandStMary near Norwich...
By request I've gone back to my recent #Ham&Lyme50k run this morning for another #ink and #watercolour painting. This one is of a view nearer the finish as the sea becomes visible at ~25.6 miles approaching #WoottonFitzpaine in #Dorset...
Yesterday's avocet seemed to go down well, so I've stayed with the #bird theme today for another play with #charcoal + #watercolour pencils and this picture of a #kestrel. It's interesting exploring different media. This one required lots of #patience - not normally something I have in large supply!
My #art practice this morning has produced a 4th ink and #watercolour #painting of a view from my #Ham&Lyme50k run at the weekend. This view is from ~14 miles in, not far from the second checkpoint in the village of Winsham, #Somerset, with the clouds starting to clear...
