Looking at some Legion data and realised Jay Heaps reached Mark Briggs’ number of games coached. And comparing their records is shockingly similar. Briggs: 6-11-11, 34 scored and 44 conceded Heaps: 6-10-13, 43 scored and 44 conceded Attacking output the only real difference from 2025.

FINAL: Legion 4-0 Brooklyn A much needed win and performance by the Three Sparks to keep their dwindling postseason hopes alive.

FINAL: Legion 4-0 Brooklyn A much needed win and performance by the Three Sparks to keep their dwindling postseason hopes alive.

90+ GOAL LEGION After great work down the wing by Gevork Diarbian, Ronaldo Damus pokes home Legion’s fourth of the day. 4-0

84’ GOAL LEGION Sebastian Saucedo, freshly on for Vassell, earns a penalty with a clever bit of skill. He then picks himself up and scores from the spot. 3-0

48’ GOAL LEGION Perfect start to the second half as Peter-Lee Vassell turns provider and unselfishly tees up Serge Ngoma for a tap-in in the box after playing a one-two with the winger. 2-0

Half-Time: Legion 1-0 Brooklyn Birmingham lead at the half, but as is often the case could rue additional missed opportunities. They need to keep these levels up for another 45 minutes to see the game through.

14’ GOAL LEGION Peter-Lee Vassell’s free-kick takes a deflection off a Brooklyn defender and goes in off the post. 1-0

Birmingham Legion are underway against Brooklyn FC. This game is a must-win for the Three Sparks if they are to retain any hope of a miraculous postseason push.

Birmingham Legion lineup v Brooklyn (4-2-3-1): Koleilat; Tregarthen, Brown, Diop, McCartney; Antwi, Shashoua; Pasher, Vassell, Diarbian; Williams. Only one recognised centerback on the team, so it’s anyone’s guess who will line up besides Hamady Diop.

FINAL: Rowdies 4-0 Legion A terrible result for the Three Sparks, and any good will or momentum from the NMU comeback has been wholly annihilated. Anything other than a win Wednesday against Brooklyn, and the season is essentially over.

60’ Goal Tampa Make that four…. After a bright start to the second half, Legion have fallen apart in the past five minutes, with a red card to their head coach and two goals conceded. TBR 4-0 BL

56’ Goal Tampa Jay Heaps walks off just as the hosts add a third. No idea what Kadeem Cole was doing on that play. TBR 3-0 BL

55’ Red card to Jay Heaps. The only surprise there is that this is the first one of the season for a coach who has eight yellow cards already.

Second half underway in Florida, with a triple change for Birmingham. Hamady Diop, Gevork Diarbian and Tyler Pasher are on for AJ Paterson, Serge Ngoma and Sam McIllhatton as the Three Sparks look to get back in this. TBR 2-0 BL

Half-Time: Rowdies 2-0 Legion Two corners the undoing for the Three Sparks, who have been on the back foot from the start in Florida. So much for building off the momentum from that final 20’ against New Mexico.

39’ Goal Tampa Another corner, another goal. Jassem Koleilat initially makes a brilliant save off the first header, but MD Myers reacts fastest to poke home the rebound. TBR 2-0 BL

30’ Goal Tampa Legion concede off a corner once again to go behind. It had been coming, but the manner is unfortunate as a deflection off a Legion player smacks Koleilat in the face and goes in. TBR 1-0 BL

Ahead tonight’s game, Birmingham Legion showed there is still fight left in them. Across two games played at their Dunnavant Valley training facility this past week, the Three Sparks went toe-to-toe with some of the league’s best and earned a point. bhamsports.net/2026/09/19/l...

90+9 GOAL LEGION They’ve done it! With the last kick of the game, Ronaldo Damus ties things up to four goals apiece. A well-deserved equalizer after a spirited fightback for the Three Sparks. FINAL: Legion 4-4 New Mexico

FINAL: Legion 2-2 Charleston A pretty uneventful second half ends with the teams still level. No late goal conceded this time, so that’s a positive at least.

Half-Time: Legion 2-2 Charleston Birmingham have grown into the half since their equalizer, but Charleston continue to offer plenty of threat of their own and Jassem Koleilat is once again pulling out some great saves.

Goals conceded off crosses, leads thrown away and stoppage-time goals have defined Birmingham Legion’s season. All three combined for yet more heartbreak when the Three Sparks travelled to Indy Eleven. bhamsports.net/2026/09/05/a...

In their last four games, Birmingham Legion have conceded a result-altering goal in the 90+9, 90+11 and 90+9. A truly horrible streak for the Three Sparks, with a total of four points lost across those three instances.

90+ Goal Indy It’s been coming, but wow will that hurt for the Three Sparks. With possibly the last kick of the game, Indy score off a lucky post rebound falling straight back to an Indy player’s knee. 2-2

FINAL: Indy Eleven 2-2 Birmingham Legion It’s not a 3-2 loss, but it’s yet more points dropped for the league leaders in that category. A draw probably would have been a good result in isolation, but Legion have a knack of making things feel worse than they should.

90+ Goal Indy It’s been coming, but wow will that hurt for the Three Sparks. With possibly the last kick of the game, Indy score off a lucky post rebound falling straight back to an Indy player’s knee. 2-2

66’ GOAL LEGION First Pasher, now Romario Williams gets on the scoresheet against his former club. His third in the last two games. 1-2
