Part of the role of the FWCC is to maintain positive and peaceful relations with our neighbours. Sometimes this means attending events in the lives of other communions on behalf of Quakers. The Church of England has just shared this picture from a meeting with Sarah Mullally earlier this year.

I've been thinking about this a lot. Even though the different versions of Quakerism interpreted the early Friends differently, they all (at least originally) claimed a link back to George Fox, Robert Barclay etc. Could we find unity by getting to know early Quakerism better?
Stuart Masters@stuartkmasters.bsky.social · 3w agoAll the diverse expressions of the Quaker faith in the world today look back to the founding mothers and fathers of the Quaker movement for inspiration... they each interpret this received tradition in quite different ways, emphasising some characteristics at the expense of others.
A year ago today I had the chance to give the Backhouse Lecture at Australia Yearly Meeting. A lot of thought went into it, and I'm grateful for how it was received. There are a few paper copies left, and the online version will go live soon. CC @quakersaustralia.bsky.social

The meeting was warm and friendly, and finished with a brief moment of silent prayer .
After reading online comments about Sarah Mullally, I re-read Rhiannon Grant's @rhiannonbookgeek.bsky.social recent blog. Fell would have some strong things to say about those trying to silence the voices of women who are routinely threatened and insulted online. www.quaker.org.uk/blog/women-s...
