9 June 1903 : Trinity College Dublin (TCD) announced that it would permit women to receive its degrees. The first female graduate in medicine was Dr. Eva Jellett whose father was born in Cashel and whose family owned land in Tipperary.

This 1893 sherriff's sale had an unusual outcome. The landlord 'Lindsay' bought the interest for £100 at the sale. He went to court toeject the tenant Edmond Auglin it was discovered that the actual tenant, since 1883, was the son Thomas. the case was lost In Clonmel Chronicle 29th Nov 1893
