Early version of a gag in my book about where nudists keep their stuff. The dog acted as a censor, but I quickly decided that wasn’t the humor I wanted. Wish I would have kept that dog, but I forgot about him. This is also why they carry backpacks or tote bags in the final draft. #BTS #IndieComics

A black and white cartoon panel, featuring an exchange between a nude male ice cream vendor named Buster and a nude female surfer named Sunny. Titled “Bark Comedy.” Panel one: Buster, frantic, says “Sunny! That was the chilliest breeze I’ve ever felt and I’ve lived in this town my entire life.” Panel Two: Buster says “Something’s wrong!” and Sunny says “Let me check the weather app on my phone!” Panel Three: a dog pops out of nowhere yelling “BARK” in large lettering. Panel four: Buster says, looking out at the viewer, “Hey, friendly reminder. This is just a cartoon. So relax and don’t ask too many questions. Sunny says, looking at her phone, “Maaan, I got sand on it.”

Thanks to everyone who’s picked up the book, shared it, or told a friend. Seeing people discover Pretty Beach has made launch week really special. 🏝️

Deep beneath the sands of Pretty Beach, somehow there is a cavernous, high-tech sanctuary of ice cream justice and sugary wonders! Sample panel from my book.

A long, horizonalt black and white cartoon panel depicting an interior scene. It depicts an underground laboratory, with a large cylindrical elevator shaft, dessert models hidden in a corner, a floor to ceiling painting of a dessert in a glass container, a supercomputer, an ice cream van and a gaping hole leading to what appears to be an underground cavern.

The Turntable feature in Adobe Illustrator puts out jigsaw vectors but damn I have to admit it is great for at least sketching out what designs can look like in less time.
