These new DK and Diddy plushes being a part of the Super Mario branding has me a little concerned about when we’ll finally see Dixie and the others, but still, these will be nice to have!

Tetris99’s older themes are available again for just two Tickets. Managed to go back and get the two Donkey Kong themes (DKCR HD and Bananza).
A vendor at Too Many Games sold me this diorama of DK’s hut from Returns. It’s fun putting my smaller DK figures on it. Movie DK fits with it the best!

I’m a massive hypocrite because I completely clowned on Yooka-Laylee for giving the player this ability but hearing it’s being added to Banjo makes me really excited. It was a fun feature to play around with when having an N64 GameShark.

When you collect all Jiggies and Music Notes you unlock the ability 'Breegull Boost' which lets BK fly anywhere. Might be a reference to the prototype that originally allowed BK to do that without pads.

Completed the Kong Bananza Returns Emerald Rush. Not as easy as I thought it’d be! Had to prioritize the Crockoid perks. It helps that there’s so many of them native to the level (so you aren’t just chasing the ones spawned in from the Goals) and that they respawn so often.

Yeesh, that wasn’t easy. I knew the Layers with high terrain strength were going to be difficult.
I didn’t 100% Super Mario Bros Wonder the first time but the new Double Badges and Flower Power Up (that the levels clearly weren’t designed around) actually made going back for it pretty fun. The Dolphin Kick should really just be part of 2D Mario’s core moveset.
Can confirm he still does it in the HD version!
Supper Mario Broth@mariobrothblog.bsky.social · 7mo agoAn obscure functionality of Donkey Kong Country Returns is that if Donkey Kong spends 3 full attack cycles of a boss not damaging it, Professor Chops will pop up telling him what to do, e.g. "BOP NOW!" In the Mole Miner Max battle, the tip is particularly condescending, being simply "TRY HARDER".
