I’m watching Don’t Say Good Luck. Its story of a mom with cancer is hitting a bit too close to home (both my parents are survivors), but I feel like this is gonna be cathartic.

I’ve nearly finished the new season of King of the Hill, and I still adore this show. It’s funny and sometimes surprisingly profound. It’s a most welcome addition to contemporary TV.

So, I just read a report that Gandalf is going to be riding an oliphaunt across Rhûn in the new season of Rings of Power and, while I genuinely like this show a lot, this might be the moment when it crosses into hardcore fan fiction territory.

In the next couple of months I'm going to be doing author events at both a romance festival and an Appalachian literary festival. As someone who's work sits at the strange confluence of queer romance and Appalachian lit, this is literally a dream come true.

Man. It’s amazing how little can happen in an hour of House of the Dragon. Lol.

I didn’t think I’d see an adaptation of The Vampire Chronicles that could butcher Rice like The Queen of the Damned, but the finale of The Vampire Lestat is giving QotD a run for its money.

I’m still torn by that last scene of this weeks Lestat. Idk. It just felt kinda cheap and silly, more True Blood than Anne Rice. I have a hard time thinking of how it will have a satisfying payoff in the finale. What do you all think?

I’m currently watching Maximim Pleasure Guaranteed. Holy shit this show is terrific. Top notch acting, tight writing, propulsive score. Definitely one of the best shows I’ve watched this year.

The Episcopal service I went to today was so lovely. I’m not one of those who usually says they felt the Spirit, but I got a little weepy during the sermon and when the rector gave me a blessing during Communion. We have such a lovely congregation, and I’m so happy to join them on Sundays.

I’ve enjoyed every Cat Sebastian book I’ve read, but I’m already 25 pages in and this one might be my fave!

IMHO, House of the Dragon is at its best when it focuses on the central characters--Rhaenyra, Daemon, and Alicent--and lets the actors just let loose. Everyone else is fine, but it's these three characters who are really the central sources of narrative and emotional energy.

The second episode of House of the Dragon is quite good. Definitely some of the best we’ve seen since the first season.
