The Cognitive Computational Neuroscience conference is starting soon! And we're back in NYC, celebrating 10-ish years of conferencing. Let us know your reflections on CCN's past for our special Back2NY event And remember to share the work your presenting and learning about with the #CCN2026 hashtag
Some things get better with age. Like CCN... and Knicks basketball. 🧠🏀 As we return to New York and celebrate 10 years of @cogcompneuro.bsky.social , we'd love to hear your thoughts on how CCN has evolved. Share them in our pre-conference survey: shorturl.at/c19lJ
I'm recruiting two postdocs (or potentially PhD students) to work on projects at the intersection of cognition, neuroscience, and AI (with a particular emphasis on mechanistic interpretability). Apply here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F... and please share!

#CCN2026 Local Meetups Not able to join us in New York this year but want to follow along? CCN is happy to again complement the in-person conference with distributed, local meetups. We provide the livestream, you host the event. ➡ 2026.ccneuro.org/local-meetups/

You may have received a desk reject about this, but don't worry, it is an easy fix!
Presenting at #CCN2026 (Extended Abstract or Proceedings)? We need your deanonymized "camera-ready" PDF. If you have not submitted one on OpenReview yet, email tpc@ccneuro.org and we will help you fix it.

ok so new york is basically one continual party/celebration these days with supremely positive vibes all around (knicks, pride, etc...), can't wait for it to also include #CCN2026!
#CCN2026 will feature three GAC debates: Does NeuroAI adopt suitable methods & frameworks to understand mind & brain? Do world models emerge in prediction networks? Should neural population activity explain representations or transformations? The review period is now open. 🖥️ 2026.ccneuro.org/gac

The tech layoffs suck. But the smart people they let go aren't going to retire -- they will start competing companies. Tech CEOs used to understand that and buy early stage startups, but now seems possible they are letting a lot of highly skilled people free to innovate against them.
📢 Registration for #CCN2026 is now open! Join us August 3–6, 2026 at NYU, New York City for the 9th Annual Conference on Cognitive Computational Neuroscience. 🗓 Early registration: May 28 🗓 Standard registration: July 15 🗓 Onsite Register: 2026.ccneuro.org/meeting-regi...

Excited that this work with @rachitdubey.bsky.social and @cocoscilab.bsky.social is finally officially out!
A computational theory of Aha! moments! New paper explaining why Aha! moments occur & why they feel so good. TLDR: They are a form of meta-cognitive prediction errors i.e. they occur when we surprise ourselves about our own abilities! @rachitdubey.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
@michael.muthukrishna.com and I are hiring a postdoc to join our labs at NYU! We're looking for someone excited to work on one of society's newly emerging and potentially generation-shaping challenges: the multi-agent alignment problem.
designing interesting and subtle exams that aren't too difficult but also not too easy is so a real mental puzzle. interestingly, its one very glaring case I've felt where AI is really of limited usefulness (aside from like formatting, etc...).
Use this picture of the iconic Washington Square Park in the summer to motivate you to get to CCN at NYU.
Where are you on your abstract submission timeline? Slowly and steadily preparing your two-pager, or prepping to be up late on the 2nd like me 😅?
⚠️ #CCN2026 submissions close soon! → GACs, Keynotes, Tutorials & Community Events: March 31 (AoE) → Extended Abstracts: April 2 (AoE) CCN brings together cognitive science, neuroscience, and AI to discuss the computations underlying complex behavior. Submit your work now!
📄 2-page Extended Abstracts are open for submission until April 2nd (Anywhere on Earth, AOE)! Submission guidelines: cogcompneuro.github.io/docs We look forward to your #CCN2026 submissions!
extra time to get those proposals in!
🚨 #CCN2026 Submission Updates! 🧠 The deadline for Generative Adversarial Collaborations (GACs), Keynote+Tutorials, and Community Events has been extended until March 31st! For more information on those event types, see the CCN 2026 website.
