Engineer William Fairbairn was Commissioned by the Fielden Brothers to design a new mill at Lumbutts. Todmorden. The tower was built between 1828-30 to house first two, and then three overshot water wheels, one above the other. Each wheel was 6 feet wide and 31 feet in diameter.

@theguardian.com I saw your temps list on the weather live feed on the site, the only north west temp you gave was #Liverpool, so here is #Todmorden, 19 miles north of #Manchester, right now. 29c was forecast.

Apparently, you can set your mobile camera to selfie mode, and turn your back to the sun, but point the camera sensor to the sun. I saw that on Look North this evening.

No rain on Thursday & Friday with plenty of very warm to hot hazy sunny spells as the #heatwave continues. Saturday and into Sunday sees temperatures slip out of the heatwave threshold with less hot air from the N/NW. For now though, the E to NE breeze continues albeit not as strong as recently.
