Printed a show mounted viewfinder for my M-Mount stereo setup. Not perfect but it’s a step in the right direction

Experimenting with something new on the livestream tonight. Drawn negatives built from collage. Looking forward to getting this into the darkroom one day soon
A new to me lens setup for photographing my reptiles. Initial reaction to this Fuji macro is favourable
I recently did a darkroom guide video about different paper stocks in partnership with Firstcall Photographic; you can read a little about it here and follow a link to my video. firstcall-photographic.co.uk/blogs/news/d... I also discovered some new papers that will fast become favourites for me

Tomorrow is one year since we started the podcast. Come join us!
I’ve neglected here recently. The variety of social media trying to manage felt to much and tried adding substack into the mix, ended up cutting it all back to just YouTube and Instagram. Stand by for a mini bombarding of arty activities I’m doing/hosting/experimenting!
Wow what a week and it’s only Tuesday. Big classroom overhaul at work for the befit of our students; recording and editing video I’ve been doing for Firstcall photo, but the big news if a project idea that I thought dead in the water is now alive and I’m hoping it’s not just a. Zombie!!!
Thinking on my new project and what limitations I should give myself. Last week staying on a working sheep farm had clear contextual links & I made some great photographs; but it’s also 4 hours from the market house. Could the images help tell the story - yes, are they part of the story? Maybe not…
5 down, 2 to go and they can wait for tomorrow. Pleased with the results so far as they dry overnight.
You know when a new photographic project has taken hold when you aren’t sleeping because you are too busy planning possible directions to take the work.
Big old creative day starting a new project. Very pleased with the results so far drying.
Next episode of Almost In Focus coming Wednesday. This time we chat about the gallery world with Laura Noble.

Nearly all set for tonight’s camera to print 1 hour challenge on YouTube.
Looking for inspiration for this week’s livestream, I was flicking through The Photo Book (@phaidonpress.bsky.social) and noticed how few photographers are recognised primarily for still-life work. It’s another reminder of photography’s deep connection to life, movement and the human experience.
Today I set up an outdoor studio for still life’s (on a table) and portraits. Built on the outer wall of my darkroom I can go from exposure to printing straight away. Will be a bit of fun this summer. (Excuse the mess of boxes I grabbed all my backdrops and quickly chose

Wonderful day yesterday in London. Although some of the examples left me cold in the Sony Award exhibition; there was also show stealing work by Zed Nelson, Todd Antony and of course: Joel Meyerowitz. And then there was his brilliant talk and book signing.
