These people literally can't wrap their heads around the idea of mutual obligation in a shared society. All of us "never use" the majority of things our taxes pay for, other than that they pay for a functioning community which benefits all of us. Military spending on the other hand....

For our mega-survey on populist attitudes, we asked whether people would prefer a more multi-party system or a two-party system. The former blew the latter out of the water. Asked about specific reforms to get there, people are less sure. Also, Trump populists are the most fond of the status quo.
