Taide on luksustuote, kunnes joku kuolee ja täytyy löytää sanoja suruun. Tai kun täytyy olla ymmällään jonkin kauniin äärellä. Tai kun täytyy luoda kansakunta ja kertoa maailmalle, mistä meissä oikeasti on kyse. On paljon hetkiä, jolloin taide on välttämätöntä.

Taide on silkka ylellisyystavara - näin on lausuttu suomalaisessa kulttuuridebatissa ainakin vuodesta 1872 alkaen. Ajatus ei siis ole uusi, eikä nykyisten ”tiukkojen” aikojen tuottama, vaan vanha ja periaatteellinen. Taiteesta ei leikata huonojen aikojen tähden, vaan ideologisista syistä.

Hallitus uskoi yhteisöveron alennusten dynaamisiin, taloutta piristäviin vaikutuksiin. Kyse oli lopulta vain miljardiluokan rahansiirrosta valtiolta yritysten omistajille. Se oli vuonna 2015. Nyt hallitus tekee jälleen täsmälleen samaa, luvaten eri luopputulosta. yle.fi/a/3-7773569

Veronalennuksen dynaamisten vaikutusten piti piristää taloutta, mutta teho jäi olemattomaksi. Yhteisöverotulot laskivat viime vuonna noin 800 miljoonaa euroa.

About thirty pages in, and I feel seen. A dude tries to travel to a linguistics conference in Helsinki, ends up in a bizarre overcrowded city by mistake and cannot figure out how or why he got there and cannot understand anyone. Reading Karinthy's book in Helsinki adds to the weirdness.

Orpon hallitus pitäytyy päätöksessään alentaa yhteisöveroa 20 %:sta 18 %:in. Päätös kasvattaa alijäämiä vuosittain noin 1 mrd. €, mutta talouskasvua se ei edistä. Samalla hallitus leikkaa tärkeistä menoista. Esim. sote-järjestöjen STEA-avustuksista leikataan 190 milj. € (= 50 %) vuosina 2024-2027.

Yhteisövero alenee, sote-järjestöiltä leikataan – katso tästä Purran budjettiehdotuksen tärkeimmät kohdat

Uusia sopeutuksia ei ole tulossa, vaan aiempia säästöpäätöksiä viedään budjettiin. Budjettiehdotuksesta neuvotellaan vielä koko hallituksen voimin syyskuussa.

Vaikka VM väittää, että ministeriö ei preferoi menoleikkauksia yli veronkorotusten, VM:n virkamiehet vaativat toistuvasti menoleikkauksia ja jättävät verotoimet mainitsematta. Esimerkki: "– Kun sopeutuksen mittaluokka on niin suuri, täytyy tarkastella hyvin laajapohjaisesti kaikkia julkisia menoja"
