Steve Adler was far too frequently what I would call “frustratingly moderate” in pushing compromises to get more than the minimum majority, but nearly always came around. Kirk Watson is what I would call an asinine moderate as he adopts a leadership style that appeals to Twitter blowhards.

Starting to think that attendance being at or below MLS regular season averages for Leagues Cup games against big name Liga MX teams is not a great sign for the tournament. But hey, some of us have been annoyed at this tournament from the start.

The more new commissioner Larry Berg speaks, the more I feel like Don Garber started with the same intents: to prioritize growing the game and the revenue will follow. Garber changed his approach at the end of his tenure: chasing revenue and assuming the game will grow because of it.

I’m willing to hear concerns about the Austin light rail project, but I reserve the right to call you stupid if you pull out math implying we should be buying every rider a car instead with the money. The vehicles are among the least expensive parts of any transportation system.

Perhaps @capmetroatx.bsky.social should figure out how to fix the Rapid service because 37 minutes between buses is way below even the infrequent routes, much less the 20 expected on a rapid line on weekday evenings. Though the data is such a mess it’s hard to tell what is actually happening.

The Odyssey (in 70mm) was fantastic and it delights me that the worst people will never enjoy it for reasons that are completely inside their head.

The Dog’s Head development is on a desolate plot of land near the airport and close to downtown. It can be responsibly built for housing and commercial development that benefits the city as a whole. It’s archaic to expect such a plot of land to remain untouched. The outcry is confusing at best.

It has been a long time since that stadium has been that hot at full time. No air movement at all, as the smoke from two second half goals actually sank towards the ground. A good problem to have on a good night for the good guys.

Kickoff moving from 7:30 to 8:30 means the temperature at kickoff will be 96 instead of 99. Technically an improvement, though I am really looking forward to the pausa de hidratacion.

Having given up any hope of ever getting to see The Odyssey in IMAX, because the Bob Bullock is sold out (and isn’t even showing it for a few weeks), I was pleased to see the Galaxy Highland has it in 70mm and $6.25 on Tuesday. Compromises.
