Abstraction isn’t necessarily a 1:1 allegory for death by suicide so much as it’s like losing oneself in any kind of mental health spiral, including addiction. How everyone visits Jax and the other abstractions also reminds me of visiting a loved one in long-term care or inpatient treatment.
The moment that made me start sobbing when I read the script was the scene between Caine and the Moon. “You know, I never programmed you to say you loved me.” “I know.” This is my personal favourite scene in the show. We don’t have to be our worst moments - love is what makes us, what saves us.
It was an amazing theater expirience, the crowd was so passionate and the q&a with Amanda at the end was really nice, not to brag but I got a question in Also the finale was really good, I got a few problems but overall that shit was fantastic
