Today we’re launching our Intergenerational Infrastructure policy. Some decisions are simply too important to be made three years at a time. That’s why we’re proposing a longer-term approach to the planning our country needs. www.opportunity.org.nz/intergenerational_infrastructure
Opportunity

This is the official account of The Opportunity Party NZ. Opportunity is committed to evidence-based, long-term solutions - not for special interests or some particular demographic, but for all New Zealanders. https://www.top.org.nz/
The people standing for Opportunity aren’t career politicians. They’re people who’ve built businesses, shaped policy, worked in their communities and decided the only way they can help to achieve tangible results is to get in there and do it themselves.

New Zealand has become trapped in a cycle of stop-start politics, a flip-flopping of doing and undoing, resulting in a colossal waste of taxpayer money. This report estimates that cycle has cost New Zealand $17.6 billion over the past 25 years.
We know New Zealand can do better because we’ve seen what happens when good people step up to solve our difficult problems. That’s exactly why our team is standing.
Every generation has been shaped by an energy source, and we don’t think the future should be about choosing between the past and the present. We need abundant, affordable renewable energy to power our homes, grow our economy, and create opportunities for generations to come.
There are 57 (and counting) Opportunity events happening around the country this August! If you are interested in attending one of our events, you can check out what is going on this month here: www.opportunity.org.nz/events

Importantly, we also bring a fresh perspective that can challenge the status quo because that has not been delivering what New Zealanders need, and that's why we are bringing this new perspective to politics. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politics/850090/opportunity-party-reveals-candidates-for-40-electorates

100 days - that’s all that’s left until New Zealand votes. Read everyone’s policies, ask the hard questions, go along to a local event, and don’t just settle for the same old political teams if they’re no longer delivering what you want for New Zealand.
🟢 Ryan Bridge Today - 29 July: Opportunity passes 5% in the NZ Herald Poll of Polls.

Every year more of our brightest head to Sydney, London and Singapore, because that's where the opportunity is. Let's build it here instead, with a plan that gives them a reason to stay.
Out: tribal politics. In: constructive progress. Our door remains open to both Chrises to build a more hopeful future for New Zealand.
The PM's comments are indicative of where politics is at in NZ. It’s old-fashioned tribalism that we have to get beyond. Kiwis expect our political parties to leave ideology at the door & work constructively to make progress on the big issues. We're here to talk whenever National is ready.
Our Breakthrough Economy plan is about building what’s next. The goal is simple: build an economy that creates more opportunities for the next generation. That means higher productivity, better jobs, and stronger wages. Read the full policy here: https://www.opportunity.org.nz/breakthrough-economy
From more frequent extreme weather events to the rapid rise of AI, the world is changing fast. Now’s the time for fresh thinking, long-term solutions, and a new voice in Parliament that’s focused on building our economy instead of defending the politics of yesterday.
"Government choices in the next 12–24 months will be critical to get things back on track.” - Climate Commission. Opportunity won’t retreat from our climate challenge. We’ll back communities and businesses to meet it head-on.
Doorknocking is where some of the best conversations happen. Right now we’re particularly looking for doorknockers in: • Dunedin • Waikato • Rotorua • South Auckland • West Auckland • Rangitata • Wairarapa • Taranaki • Palmerston North • Taupō
New Zealand needs an energy plan that looks forward, not backwards. Our goal is simple: triple our renewable generation by 2050 and build the affordable, reliable energy system our future depends on.
Yesterday, Qīulae and our Wellington North candidate Jessica Hammond stood alongside the LegaSea team on the steps of Parliament. Opportunity supports ecosystem-based fisheries management, better science, greater transparency and a precautionary approach where uncertainty exists.
We don’t need to accept politics as it is. We can build a system that’s more open, more transparent and more accountable. That’s how we earn trust back.
Will New Zealand's economy ever be good enough to lure people back from overseas?
Our country works best when we work together. Let’s leave ideology at the door, get around the table and collaborate on what’s best for New Zealand.
Awesome to have you on the team Kayla. From August, Kayla will be stepping back as WWF CEO, to focus on the Opportunity campaign in Wellington Bays. Full article https://newsroom.co.nz/2026/07/14/conservation-group-ceo-braves-political-yuck-to-run-for-opportunity/

Opportunity is at 4.7% in this morning's RNZ-Reid poll. That says people are ready to put their energy behind an economy that's fair, that actually improves, and that gives their kids a reason to stay in the country they grew up in. Expect better. We intend to deliver it.
We have the ideas. We have the talent. So let’s build NZ’s innovation engine. Opportunity will design for breakthroughs instead - by lifting research & development spending, introducing new technology investment credits for business and investing in our students and polytechs.
