If I could eat anything right now, i've been dying for a nice slice of pizza from my favorite place. My second choice would be fish over rice, i'm willing to try yellow croakers again since my mom isn't here to destroy them with salt. I think about food more than normal people my size.

FB's viewer statistics are predictably flatlined because I don't promote it much, especially because it's not ongoing. But recently that's changed and I don't know what to attribute it to. It's these events that just make me wonder where it gets passed around, and what people say.

It always feels like there is somebody there who is "open to talk anytime" until you need it honest to God. Not because they aren't there, but because you don't want to bother anyone at anytime, for anything

Man. I'm really starting to feel like i'm in a spot where I just need outside guidance and to talk to people who are not really involved in my situations. I think normally you'd turn to your family, but my family just loves to be absent.

not gonna lie, I probably am a frustrating person to deal with when there's some kind of altercation. My ability to shut a person out forever is an unmatched skill.

keep trying to think of ways to tell my new doctor I can't keep coming in for consultations back to back. I just can't afford it even if it's "low cost"

came back from the doc today, now I'm waiting for labs to get to me so I can see if there's anything I could fix with my diet. really hoping to get more answers than questions at this point.

Being an adult has taught me a few things, notably that it is okay to acknowledge the natural limit of understanding, that people of every kind will lie to you, and that there is nothing wrong in having some ignorance.

had an idea thrown at me about maybe one of these little guys sawing off his own beak to make shooting easier- not something they'd normally do for obvious reasons, for less obvious reasons they consider disturbing their natural glory to be heretical. This little guy is coo coo for cocoa puffs

Hirohiko Araki on the evil of AI art in today's "world of con artists". He worries about the impact AI-generated fakes will have on manga. He recently saw an AI image and was shocked at its similarity to his art style. - Hirohiko Araki's New Manga Techniques (November 15, 2024)

Speaking about societal evils, I think that as AI continues to spread throughout society, we'll be seeing an increasingly shady world filled with scammers exploiting it. Recently, I saw a drawing and thought, “This is something I drew, right?” I was shocked to learn it was actually made by AI. When I draw manga, I add subtle elements that make the work uniquely mine. But this AI-generated piece even mimicked details like the way I draw eyelashes, so precisely that it was almost impossible to tell it apart from my work. If it were based on recent drawings, I’d know right away, “No, I didn’t draw this.” On the other hand, I honestly wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if it were done with my art from about ten years ago, when my memory of it would be a little hazy. The more AI advances, the more this kind of thing will happen.

Art reflects the times, and manga is one example of that. Seeing this world of con artists appear in manga could very well mean that we’re headed for a future world dominated by fraudsters. This type of evil in today’s age will undoubtedly end up impacting manga down the line.

Copyright infringement by AI is also a villain that we manga artists must face. The extreme scenario is that AI-generated fakes might start being accepted as the real thing, and even if we try to protect our work, these counterfeits are becoming so accurate and sophisticated that it’s no longer a fight an individual can win. Having some kind of laws would probably be the only way to regulate this. However, because we’re dealing with a world of con artists, there’s also a very real possibility that laws favoring them will appear before we know it. Personally, I entrust my copyright management to Shueisha, but some manga artists are lax in managing their copyrights, leading to others using their artwork without permission or even leaking original drawings. When I see that, I worry that they might face serious trouble down the line if they don’t take it more seriously.

Whether good or bad, no one knows me. When people see me, they can't guess who I am like i'm a weird shadow of what a person is. When I talk, they don't expect the sound of my voice. It's kind of like I have so little presence I can barely make it beyond existing in a space.

I don't align with anyone, so i'm scared of being myself in a way, I can't trust anyone and it's hard to make friends because i've been hurt a lot. When people turn flippant because they are upset or angry or want to make you into a straw person, that hurts more than anything.

Anytime I get the urge to just go goblin mode again or troll or be a fucking idiot for laughs I mentally punt myself in the snatch. I have some awful tendencies but I have to remind myself it's better to be good to people than let loose in my behavior for a momentary gaffe.

I'm publicly apolitical. This may frustrate some, but that can't be helped. To my and other's benefit I cherish a level of tolerance with many others who I may not necessarily align with, but who I appreciate regardless. Maybe it's a wish that the respect was returned, futile as it is.
