The Stripe Overload cardi by Spektakelstrik is perfect for #showmeyourknits this week. I am knitting it in Stormdal ull, tykk 2-tråd, a wonderful yarn spun in Nordland from local sheep. I knit it in natural colours, three different shades.

What is on my needles, #showmeyourknits? A sweater based on the Newspaper sweater by Isager, but it will be a raglan, and the top will be a desert, complete with cacti.

I hardly ever do plain stockinette, #showmeyourknits , but my colourwork sweaters still have large swaths of it, like this left-over Rauma 3 tråds strikkegarn re-imagined version of Beetlejuicy by Pufido.

I knit my first projects in the seventies, and garter stitch was prominent. This has left me a bit scarred - garter is not a favourite thing. I have however used it for shadow knitting, Fox on the run by Mark Jamieson. #showmeyourknits

When I moved to Bodø, I had to think about how to integrate with a very coherent journalism research group. Games, social media and strategic communication was not what they were used to. We ended up starting a very relaxed, but useful, research program named The New Local, and co-wrote an article.

I have bought a little yarn from indie dyers, but due to the cost and their frequent use of superwash I have started to dye my own. This is not an indie designer, but I dyed the yarn myself, bought from a store that sells rescued yarn from production. Pattern is Stephen West Mystery Musical.
