Being undocumented does not mean you lose your rights. And it certainly does not give federal agents a free pass to use force without answering for it. A 5-year-old child was in that car. Instead of explaining what happened, DHS is attacking the victim’s character to justify its agents’ actions.

Videos show ICE shooting in NYC unfolded in a few chaotic seconds

A senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement official says federal officers shot and wounded a Dominican man in New York because they believed their lives were in danger.

We were proud to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Children’s Festival with the Vietnamese Community of Pomona Valley! The evening was a beautiful celebration of Vietnamese culture, community, and tradition. Thank you to everyone who came together to make this celebration so special.

I introduced the Improving Access to WIC Act to help more moms and young children receive nutrition support. My bill would help states cut paperwork and appointments, make it easier for doctors to connect patients with WIC, and identify eligible families already enrolled in Medicaid or SNAP.

Today, we remember the more than 1,200 lives taken in the October 7 terrorist attacks. We remember the families torn apart, the hostages who endured unimaginable suffering, and all those whose lives were forever changed. We must never forget the October 7 terrorist attack.

Los Angeles is home to 12.8 million people. San Diego is home to another 3.3 million. The President is talking about the destruction of two of California’s largest metropolitan areas as a “small price to pay.” That is not leadership. It is reckless and dangerous.

I secured $25M in federal funding to move the SR-71 Gap Closure Project in Pomona forward. This investment will mean safer roads, shorter commutes, and better movement of people and goods. CA-35 families deserve infrastructure that keeps up with our growing communities.

Taxpayers are being forced to spend $950 million to buy three aging detention facilities and then keep paying GEO Group to run them through 2034. We’re paying hundreds of millions for the facilities and billions more to operate them, while ICE moves to limit oversight of unsafe conditions.

I started my career as a dispatcher, and I know the skill, pressure, and responsibility that comes with being the voice on the other end. 911 dispatchers are first responders. I’m working to make sure our laws recognize them as such. Thank you, Elex Michaelson, for shining a light.

They attacked our Capitol. Now they want American taxpayers to pay them for it. I’ve fought to ensure taxpayer dollars protect our democracy, not rewrite what happened on Jan 6. Don’t ask Americans to pay for the fiction that attacking the Capitol was protected political expression.

THERE IT IS: Group of January 6 riot defendants have filed each filed federal civil lawsuits in DC seeking taxpayer-funded compensatory and punitive damages for alleged violations of their righrs They claim they were "targeted..and punished" for "protected expressive" activity

Trump is using your tax dollars to fund propaganda. Calling an ad about a “final battle” a public service announcement doesn’t make it one. This Administration is trying to silence dissent. Americans deserve information from their government, not political messaging paid for with their own money.

White House airs another government-funded ad, this time with Trump warning of ‘final battle’ | CNN Politics

The Trump administration is set to launch another overtly political campaign ad funded by taxpayer dollars, attacking the “fake news media” and “the sick political class that hates our country.”

This National Police Week, I was honored to welcome the San Bernardino County Police Department and Ontario Police Department. Their work keeps our communities safe every day. I’m grateful for their service, sacrifice, and continued commitment to protecting our communities.

The American justice system is not for sale. Reports that DOJ may drop fraud charges against a billionaire with powerful political ties raise serious concerns about who justice serves. We cannot allow fairness to be traded to the highest bidder.

Breaking News: The Justice Dept. is planning to drop charges against India’s richest man, Gautam Adani, after a lawyer for the billionaire made an unusual investment offer.

Proud to join the bipartisan U.S.-Mexico Caucus to strengthen cooperation between the United States and Mexico. From trade and security to economic opportunity, this partnership impacts millions every day. At a time of growing tensions, we must build bridges, not barriers.

During National Police Week, we honor the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our communities. We remember Timothy Corlew, Hector Cuevas Jr., and Andrew Nunez and all 363 officers killed in the line of duty this year. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

TORRES: When is the White House going to submit a disaster package for California? If you're not able to answer that question--- TURNER: Part of the problem is with CA leadership TORRES: There shouldn't be any mention of any supplemental, like the illegal Iran war, without giving CA what it needs

CA pays the bills, funds the agencies, and subsidizes the country. But when it’s our turn, when 7:10 fire survivors still can’t go home, suddenly the checkbook is closed? We sent $275B more than we got back last year. CA is tired of funding this government only to be abandoned.

It was great to see NASA astronaut Victor Glover at the Capitol today. Always proud to see someone from Pomona reach the highest levels and represent our communities in such an incredible way. His journey with the #Artemis program continues to inspire so many young people back home.

Trump promised to lower costs on Day One. Instead, his reckless handling of the war with Iran is driving up gas prices, fueling inflation, and making life more expensive. While billionaires cash in on his tax giveaways, Americans are paying more at the pump and at the grocery store.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com · 5mo ago

The war in Iran is driving a sharp increase in inflation, as surging gasoline prices ripple through the American economy. The increase marks the steepest year-over-year rise since September 2023.

It was a privilege to recognize local Vietnam Veteran Richard Beasom for his service and sacrifice with a commemorative lapel pin honoring the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. If you know a Vietnam Veteran who should receive this recognition, please contact my District Office at (909) 481-6474

The only thing "unhinged" here is a President calling for a private "army" to hover over legal voters. This blatant attempt to bully Americans out of their right to vote is pathetic. Our democracy doesn’t belong to anyone.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, abuelas, tias, and mother figures across #CA35. Thank you for all the love, care, and sacrifices you give your families every day. I hope you feel celebrated today.

Pomona residents: the Ganesha Park Stairs are now open! This exciting project was made possible by $3 million in federal funding secured through my annual Community Project Funding process. I’m proud to deliver investments that strengthen our #CA35 communities and improve quality of life.

I’m inspired by the leadership and compassion shown by the seniors at San Antonio High School! These students designed, fundraised, and built a “Kindness Den” at Sumner Elementary School to provide hygiene products, school supplies, and food to students in need.

ICE raids don’t just impact immigrant communities, they are also hurting American workers, lowering employment and destabilizing local economies. This fear-based approach is not a solution. We need immigration policy rooted in order, fairness, and real economic sense, not cruelty.

ICE raids reduce jobs for both U.S.-born and undocumented workers, study finds

Increased ICE raids and checkpoints have lowered employment for undocumented immigrants by 4 to 5 percent. Employment for U.S.-born workers with a high school degree or less also took a hit.
