Hi all We have had reports of land devils over the last few weeks, some particularly strong (one looks to have caused damage in Swindon a few days ago) and are appealing for more information of any other reports you may have. Tomorrow may be particularly ripe in the south for further reports.

Thunderstorms are likely to develop more widely overnight, and could crop up just about anywhere (though inevitably some places will avoid them, especially, not exclusively, towards the SE). If you come across any large hail or wind damage do get in touch with us through our website. Thanks!

Thunderstorms are developing in Devon and Somerset, moving ENE broadly, and are expected to affect parts of Wales, as well as Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, over the coming hours. Associated risks of large hail, strong wind gusts and a small risk of a tornado with these.

A waterspout was spotted from Brighton Marina extending down from nearby clouds by Stephen Taylor just after 09:30 BST this morning. If you have any other reports or have seen any other waterspouts this morning then please do report them to us at our website - thanks 😁

Sharon from Eastbourne has sent in this nice picture of a funnel cloud above Shinewater Park from a passing shower, taken yesterday at 11:24 BST. Light winds and sea breeze convergence likely helped it to form as the shower intensified.

We have had reports of wind damage from varying locations across West Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. These reports range in timing from around 21:00-22:00. /1

The report into the tornado which occurred in Seaford, East Sussex on 6th December has now been published on the TORRO website. This was rated T3 tornado with a track length of 1.3km over a maximum width of 45m. www.torro.org.uk/research/event

Finished up the site investigation at Seaford. A clear damage track around 45m wide was found along a 1.3km path originating from the seafront. A clear WS/tornado. Further analysis will take place before a damage rating is awarded. Only one mangled trampoline found

Jersey experienced some very photogenic funnel clouds today. Sarah Willing sent in this photograph she took this afternoon from afar, showing at least three funnels.

A fruitful storm damage site investigation at Milford on Sea following reports on 1st Nov c. 12:15am of damage to homes. A narrow 800m long damage track was found from the sea front extending across the E of the village. Provisional rating T1. Report to be written in due course.
