The #Batman66 theme -- country fried version! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb4W... From "Country Fried TV Tunes", released in 1996 on CMH Records. This is more of a bluegrass version than country, I'd say. From the "Pickin' On" series. Can't seem to find any musicians' names!

The screen test script includes a line about Robin being too young to drive — removed from the final script. If included, perhaps they wouldn’t have received so many S1 scripts where Robin was driving. Those scripts, of course, were edited to remove Robin from the driver’s seat. #Batman66 2/2

YES, COMMISSIONER: Bruce clobbers Dick at 4-D chess ("You just have to think 14 moves ahead”). Alfred calls him to "the phone." Aunt Harriet didn't hear the phone... A quick excuse & they're off. It's Catwoman! Hey, another recycled study scene! Compare our False Face post from 3 days ago. #Batman66

HAPPY BAT-BIRTHDAY to Tol Avery, born Tallaferro Ware Avery 8/28/1915 in Ft. Worth, TX. Known for playing villains in westerns, including 6 of his 7 appearances on "Maverick." But not a villain on #Batman66! In "The Joker Trumps an Ace" (S1 E25-26) he played banker Prescott Belmont... 1/2

YES, COMMISSIONER: Dick is struggling with botany ("Pine, elm, hickory....") when Alfred appears: "It's the Batphone." Aunt Harriet comes in with a tree sample; the boys' excuse is a ramble in the woods ("Nature in the raw, so to speak!"). "It's False Face!" says Gordon, and they're off! #Batman66

HAPPY BAT-BIRTHDAY to Van Johnson, born Charles Van Dell Johnson 8/25/1916 in Newport, RI. Matinee idol in the 1940s & '50s -- "A Guy Named Joe" "The Human Comedy" "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" "The Caine Mutiny" "Brigadoon" etc. The Minstrel on #Batman66 - interesting villain, wish he'd come back.

Michael Rennie starred in 1951's "The Day the Earth Stood Still." Fox credited Rennie with its success & cast him in 1952's "Les Miserables", but the film was not a hit. Contractually blocked from TV until late '50s. Played Sandman on #Batman66. Also Lost in Space, Time Tunnel, I Spy. 2/2

“Hi Diddle Riddle” shooting reportedly began on October 20. It seems unlikely that the role of the Riddler had already been cast by September 3. Suit was likely tailored to Gorshin; if he didn't like it, it likely wouldn't have appeared. The suit was Semple’s idea, not Gorshin’s. #Batman66 4/5
