These days most of us have heard of taking a 'person-centred approach” (PCA). Did you know it started in the 1980’s with Prof Tom Kitwood proving that the dementia supports of the day were failing. He called it Malignant Social Psychology (MSP) and showed the culture harms them more than dementia.

Choice and control aren't just buzzwords or jargon, they are words to live by, for people with disability. Historically their choices have been made for them, and it's essential that disabled people make informed decisions holistically, without shying away from the ones that make people blush.
