Holly Blue Butterfly, the garden is full of Butterflies and Moths at this time of year.
Painted Lady Butterfly on Buddleia, loads of them in the garden this year.
Saved a Stag Beetle from the visiting Cat today. So pleased to see one in the garden as they are categorised as nationally scarce now. They love dead wood so a log pile in your garden really helps them.
No pesticides used here, I like my plants with accompanying bugs and they all have their own garden predators keeping numbers down. This Rose has since bloomed beautifully.
Bee on woody Salvia 'Amethyst Lips', these will bloom right into autumn keeping the pollinators happy for months.
An Ant farmer, milking captive Aphids for sweet aphid honeydew whilst also protecting them from predators.
So it wasn't just a couple of days, the Badger has now been in to visit most nights since. lovely to see.
Little Frog has decided the solar fountain is a good Lily pad alternative...
When you check your wildlife cam from last night to see if Vixen has brought the Fox cubs in yet and you see this! Never in my life did I expect to see a Badger wandering around the garden, mind blown. So Foxes, Hedgehogs and Badgers now visiting our little wildlife friendly garden.
Lunch in London. Stroll past the beautiful Tower of London wildflowers over Tower Bridge then sneaked away from the crowds onto Butlers Wharf. Thank you to the team at Browns Butlers Wharf who are always so friendly and welcoming, and who also provide really clear food allergy information.
There's a heatwave coming, especially in the South East of England, lovely for sunbathing difficult for wildlife. Please put clean water out daily for passing wildlife if you can, it makes a huge difference. Bird baths or pots or bowls, high and low, stones in them help insects that fall in escape.
The Water Iris is just showing off now...so many flowers! In one small barrel pond...
Happy in full sunshine, the Erigeron and Convolvulus are looking really pretty together this month. This is the non invasive clump forming garden Convolvulus, not the wild Bindweed variety I spend my life pulling out of the garden...
No edit, no filter, it really is this bright. No idea what this Rose is but it's one of my faves...🔥
I love my Water Iris, gorgeous flowers. Getting a bit too big for the barrel pond but I'm re-doing the little lower pond to make it deeper in September so can divide it up then. Great for Frogs to hide in 🐸
Well we wanted a little rain in London, as there's been a bit of a drought, so today we've been given hot sunshine, hail, torrential rain, wind, thunder, lightning...all the weathers...!!!
