The Steps by Juliano Zaffino is 'a debut of rare confidence, moving from domestic realism into formally inventive terrain without losing its emotional core.' It was, as always, incredibly rewarding to go back and forth with Juliano as each draft gradually became this novel.

Today is publication day for my book, Prestige Drama. It's a funny, angry book about Derry, memory and Troubles-scented television. I think it's quite good, however I can *confirm* that it's quite short. But don't take my word for how great it is, look at all these lovely people saying that.

Probably something you already know but, in some very dark times for trans discourse, Lee has been one of my absolute go-tos for unpacking the lies, distortions and slander heaped on trans people these past few years. A *truly* invaluable resource that you should all follow immediately.

I do feel like a lot of the explainer stuff trans people already wrote years ago about who is co-ordinating all this etc could probably stand to be refreshed and republished now. People seem to be getting a bit more switched on. So if you have any of that stuff, you might want to reupp it.

We had a great time at Cúirt yesterday- Molly Hennigan interviewed Juliano Zaffino about his novel The Steps on a panel with Caragh Maxwell, author of Sugartown, both debuts, both excellent. The Steps officially publishes next week but it's available to buy now!
