⏰ Cars are growing 1.2 cm longer every year, a new study from T&E UK and Clean Cities shows. UK cities are set to lose between 8.5% and 14% of their on-street parking by 2040 if this trend continues unchecked.

Great to see @theguardian.com cover T&E 's story on oil prices and the scramble for biofuels. Crop-based biofuels cannot scale without serious trade-offs including deforestation. These fuels also deliver little to no emission saving compared to fossil fuels. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Scramble for biofuel as oil prices rise ‘could push world closer to food crisis’

Experts say increased use of crops for fuel is ‘dangerous game’ that could send food price inflation soaring

Great to see our UK Director Anna Krajinska quoted in this important piece of journalism: ''As SAF usage in the UK, and elsewhere, rises, oversight of sourcing will be crucial to ensure that such mandates are effectively lowering emissions and not driving land-use change''

We are pleased to be quoted in this story in The i Paper highlighting how airlines have lobbied the government to reintroduce destructive crop‑based biofuels into the UK’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) mandate. inews.co.uk/news/airline...

Airlines are pushing for plant-based fuel – but it could make your weekly shop dearer

Jet2 and EasyJet argue that crop-based fuels could offer a cheaper solution for green air travel – but environmental groups warn there will be consequences

NEW: ✈️ Protect the integrity of the UK’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel Mandate. Turning crops into jet fuel is terrible economic, energy security and environmental policy

🚛 The UK’s HGV decarbonisation journey is gaining momentum. The government's long-awaited consultation on decarbonising HGVs marks another crucial step towards a cleaner, greener, and increasingly cost-competitive freight sector. 🧵

🌊 Cruise growth must not come at the cost of clean air and healthy communities. The UK Government’s cruise growth plan, launched in September, aims to boost coastal economies -touted as worth £5.8 billion a year and supporting 60,000 jobs.

What’s been happening with SUV sales in the UK? 🚘 SUV sales have continued to grow in the UK market this year - meaning more emissions, safety risks and road wear, and less space on our roads for pedestrians and communities 📈

We’ve joined forces across civil society & have written a joint letter to the HM Treasury advising urgent tax reform on the UK’s heaviest, most polluting cars. We’re calling for change: a straightforward large vehicle levy, that would raise nearly £2bn for vital public investment. #AutumnBudget

🔌 Electric Vehicle (EV) drivers who are able to rely on at-home charging have already been benefitting from lower running costs compared to petrol vehicles, but new analysis from The Times now shows that drivers relying solely on public charging are also saving money.
