When you're looking through the EPG to see if there's anything you'd like to watch. Come across a movie with a half decent plot. Great you think, that'll fill the afternoon then you realise it was made in 1954, is in grainy black and white with clipped, oh so British, annoying accents. Pass!
Meet the Arnhem Plateau Planigale, it's the size of your thumb and cute as! However scientists have yet to determine how it will kill you like all other fauna in Oz.
Apparently it's International Lesbian Day. So happy Dyking to all the lesbians out there.
FFS, for the last three hours Harry (the white one) has been sitting on the bathroom windowsill crying. I've evenlifted him up and moved him only for him to go back again. This is the second time he's sat at a window crying this week. Don't know what's up with him, he's not in pain or hungry.
This afternoon's choons From one of the best live shows you'd ever see, the Renée Geyer 2007 album Tenderland. Beautiful renditions of some soul classics in Renée's inimitable style. If you've never heard her, do yourself a favour. I was lucky to see her live often, but sadly she died early 2023.
INight in front of the telly tonight. t's a toss up between the final of the botty sniffers, or rhe 2027 Edinburgh Tattoo. I've made my choice.
This is quite sobering and I don't recall a time in my life when this number has been so high. Currently there are wars occuring to some degree in 60 countries around the world according to the Armed Conflict Project and The HALO Project. Sunday morning radio can be both fascinating and depressing.
70Up is on telly this Wednesday but every previous one is being shown before then starting tonight. Be interesting to watch them all again, i'm not that younger than they are and grew up in the UK so they'll be some familiar scenes. I really like Neil, i hope he does OK.
I'll never understand the kids. One day they're all crowded into Ms Meaghan's igloo bed by the window, another sprawled on my bed. Today they've decided on the hidey house that's part of their cat tree. I wonder if they take a vote or Harry, the oldest, says 'right you lot, today it's on the bed!'
This is astonishing. You'd think it was the worst of times in the dark ages not the 21st century.
Emma Joyce was sick and vomiting for days when she died. The next summer, Ava Joan got sick: wouldn't eat or drink, rapid breathing, and her vomit was black. It was untreated diabetes. The girls' toddler brother was next to die. Years later, another brother. www.propublica.org/article/idah...
I guess tomorrow is not a good day to go shopping then.....
♉️ Your emotional fuse might be extra short now, so don't turn somebody moving your phone charger into an international incident. Something small could irritate you far more than it deserves, especially if you're already feeling undervalued.
Horrific, and they have the gall to claim to be a civilised society.

The things you learn. Had no idea Uganda has four hereditary kingdoms. One thing this article fails to mention is the sacrifice of a bull and splashing the participants with fresh chicken blood at some stage in the coronation. www.bbc.com/news/article...

This is more like it, defrosting weather at last. Beautiful warmish day out there.
The downside of watching Asian news programmes in the morning is that some stories are gut churning. Well put off my toast by a (graphic) story about Vietnamese dog and cat food restaurants. It would appear there's a whole street of such specialty restaurants. Eek!
One of my neighbours is doing exactly this, he has planted about 600 trees in the past year in his paddock next to mine on the same river but 200km downstream. I'm interested in how he goes, biggest issue will be more tiger snakes, vicious little bastards! www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09...

It's the little things you notice that make you smile. Everyone knows that an AFL match is timed by a siren from the sidelines. Watching Fiji national news this morning they mentioned yesterday's final was won on the "hooter" how cute is that!
Not feeling it today. Had defrosted some chook for a curry yesterday, didn't make it. Have to cook them today. Rather than doing the traditional slow cook down of the onions I zapped them in the microwave, and forget toasting spices, threw it all in a cold crock pot and turned it on. Wish me luck!
Although it's a weird way to write a date, it's 9/25 so it's the first ever commemorative Doily Day!
This takes dedication and really hard work. Looks brilliant. The pigs will be happy for the feed when it's taken down. www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09...

Isn't this brilliant? 2 days of non stop Bluey episodes fully described by Auslan, Australian sign language, for deaf and hard of hearing kids. There's a genius in the ABC marketing department. www.abc.net.au/abckids/prog...

Geez, I'm lucky. I was quietly listening to a podcast this afternoon and there was the sound of a slasher/mower very closeby. Made my way out the front for a nosey and a neighbour I rarely see was cutting my verge for me. He was passing by on his tractor and thought I needed a tidy!
One of my favorite cases of someone being Wrong on the Internet was a very earnest, very confused vegan who was telling people how cruel honey is; and it eventually turned out they thought honey was made by putting bees in a centrifuge and spinning them around until they threw up.
This is a worry, Pacific Ocean already 3°C warmer at the equator. Months from the El Nino peak. Fiji worried they're going to run out of potable water. Bush fires this early in 4 eastern states in Oz. Flash flooding in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile.. Buckle up! wmo.int/news/media-c...

I'm addicted! Brussels Sprouts (frozen) tossed in chilli oil with a hint garlic powder zapped in the air fryer until golden and crispy. Ms Meaghan better look out, going to be a windy night!
Oh, do they really want to know? Is this when i tell them it was just what i needed to keep me entertained, or the truth?
Picked up a work piece to finish that I last worked on in the dying days of my last glasses prescription. It was so ridden with bad work and mistakes I undid about a weeks worth, it was too bad to repair! Looking better now.
