So per those reposts, I won the under-Masters SF6 tournament at @studysession.bsky.social's FITS 3 today. I never really expected to win a tournament at all - I just wanted to find a place where I could play in person, to see if I could get better at these games. And yet I did find a community...
...for sticking with this silent goof trying to bumble his way in Ultra SFIV with Rose against people way beyond my talent level. And I also want to thank @treewizfgc.bsky.social for being one of my biggest fans even as he's sweeping the SF6 locals here in the Bay. Honestly, this win would not...
Vibing in the Streets anyone? NorCal homie, @650pjdj.bsky.social, just invited everyone at FITS to come hang out at the Tamper Room in Fremont after the tournament! Let's rally and show our support! 💕

@studysession.bsky.social · 2y agoThe love keeps pouring in with $200 more to ($700 total!) being dumped into the pot by 2 anonymous community members!! To share the love, we have agreed to open the pot to top 8 with this brand new split. Thank you so much, may the best fighter win. March 29th @ 1pm www.start.gg/tournament/f...
This means even 8th place gets to break even!! If this is a preview of the vibes, then I'm hella pumped for my first monthly back in the game.

I'll be honest - two FGC sub communities I was missing here on Bsky were Japanese Project Justice, and my local SF scene (NorCal). Getting a top player from the latter in @treewizfgc.bsky.social is a good step in the right direction.
TreeWiz@treewizfgc.bsky.social · 2y agoHey I just made a BSKY and hey you should come to this tournament to play a game called SF6 there's great rewards

FGC Mom@motherdao.bsky.social · 2y agoThis is my attempt at dragging some of the FGC to BSky and away from Twitter. Please follow our account to motivate us to try new things! 🏴☠️ I like to imagine BSky being the open seas, but I've also been radicalized from trying to catch up to One Piece.... Yo hohoho!! (Bounty was their idea btw)
