Getting carded in my home town that I haven't been to in over a decade is a different level of ego boost.
So, I uh found a new plane spotting spot...took some pics with my camera but won't know how they turned out for a few days.
Me when I get a 36exp roll of film back with 39 photos on it....

Figured out what I did wrong on my last roll of film and I'll be honest, not much makes me feel stupid, but film photography certainly seems to achieve it. There's a cheat sheet for focal distance and aperture printed right on the outside of the lense....
Can someone more skilled in film photography (preferably on an older model of camera) explain to me how to intuitively figure range out without a built in rangefinder? When I set range to infinity great no problems but when I try to play with the range 98% of the pictures are blurry and out of focus
R.I.P. to my whole blurry, underexposed roll of kodak gold film i just got back, lol.
Some 35mm pictures I took that were almost good enough, but just didn't hit the mark for me:
My 10 favorite photos (of the 46 that turned out) from the 2 test rolls of fuji200 I shot the other day, on my Kodak Retina. 📷 . . #filmphotography #analogphotography #KodakRetina #fuji200
Oh my god I'm so happy. The owner of the local camera store I go to for my film and development just called me this morning to pick up this beauty! Ive been looking for a Kodak Retina 2 but they are hard to come by. However in his personal collection that he uses for the college students he had a
I was finally fast enough on the "Be My Eyes" app to answer a call. It ended up being an accidental call but in the best way (he accidentally opened the app in the background) I was able to help direct him safely to someone waiting at the end of his driveway. He was just THE sweetest older gentleman
Finally found the newspaper article from when I was in an aircraft accident as a kid lol.
By the way you can add -ai to any Google search to avoid being fed slop. ✨️
Oneday gen AI will fail completely and everyone who relied it for everything will realize that they have no learned skills, can't memorize basic information and can't even think for themselves without it. It will be a legitimate humanitarian crisis. Mark my words.
Me waking up looking at the Irish side of blsky today lmao.

There's something so surreal about looking back on the events I experienced 25 years ago. I lived a little over an hour from DC, in the town where the VP lived. That day the president decided to set up a command center in my tiny town which made the whole place paranoid that we were going to be next
Myself and 4 lucky plane spotters got a personal flyover today at the airport by two AH-1Z Vipers. They could have landed after approach but after seeing a few of us taking pictures one of them turned toward us and did a low pass, with the other then following, before coming back around to land.
Got my hands on an Ansco 2A camera today from the 1920s! Doesn't work perfectly, definitely needs a little repair so the shutter opens and closes cleanly but hey $20 is a decent deal!
What a great day to be both a Godzilla and Star Trek fan.
Well, I got my first roll of 5 Kodak Brownie photos back from the lab. I learned a valuable lesson about focal distance and lighting when shooting on something this old...but I also had one resounding success of a photo, which I'll take! . #filmphotography #kodak #BnWfilm
The moon looks absolutely insane right now. One of the best I've seen in recent memory.
